Anitta Teases New Single “Funk Rave”

Brazilian pop sensation Anitta announces via Instagram Reel that her newest single “Funk Rave” will be released on July 22nd. The single is currently available for Pre-Save.

“Funk Rave” was performed this past weekend after Anitta stole the show at Pepsi’s Kick Off Show during the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final, where she was a headliner along with Burna Boy. Anitta previewed her new single along with her global hit “Evolver”.

This single is a huge moment for Anitta as it’s her first single under her new label, after signing with Republic Records in partnership with Universal Music Latin Entertainment. Before that, Anitta had a public dispute with her former Record Label “Warner Records”, where the Grammy Nominated Artist had been trying to terminate her contract. Anitta had felt that she had to repeatedly ask the label to do things “you are supposed to naturally do”. Anitta revealed that she felt like the label was not promoting her music and that she financed both the music video and VMAs performance for her single “Lobby”.

Anitta has recently also parted ways with her manager Brandon Silverstein. The founder and CEO of S10 Entertainment helped carve out Anitta’s breakout career in the United States. Silverstein is also the Manager of another huge superstar, Normani. While he has been criticized for his work by fans of both singers, Anitta shared in a statement that “Working with Brandon the past few years was a great journey”.

The Brazilian artist’s plans don’t stop with “Funk Rave” however, as she is planning to release a new album. Anitta told Billboard News in an interview last month some details about her next album, where she describes it as “very cultural” and “very Brazilian”. Anitta ruled out touring shortly though saying “I’m working on new music for sure. Not touring Jesus Christ, I never wanna tour ever again, but I do have new music coming”. Anitta also describes her new project as something that personally represents her as a person saying “I working on this album, very cultural, very Brazilian but in English and Spanish, finally the album that I think represents me as an artist, I finally got it ready and now I’m just working on music videos, the nice part”.

Anitta had two huge years back to back in 2022-23 as she was the first Brazilian to perform at Coachella, her hit single “Envolver” topped Sportify’s Global Chart where she became the first Brazilian act to so, “Envolver” also topped the “Billboard Global Excl. U.S.” chart where she became the first with her background to do so as well, and Anitta was also nominated for a Grammy under the “Best New Artist” category.
