Reality Stars Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann call it quits after 11 years of marriage. According to Legal Documents obtained by TMZ Zolciak filed for the divorce, however, The Post reports the contrary with close sources to the couple telling them Biermann pulled the plug.
Kim rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) becoming one of the most recognizable names of the franchise. In Season 3 of the show Kim met Kroy, a former NFL player, at a charity event and they have been inseparable since. Kim stayed on RHOA for the first 5 seasons as a full-time cast member but was in a reoccurring guest role throughout later seasons. Kim, however, landed her spin-off show with then-husband Kroy, Bravo’s “Don't Be Tardy”, which went on for 8 seasons until its cancellation in 2020.
The cancellation of their show, however, didn’t keep their names off the radar as various reports of their financial woes made headlines over the years. The couple always denied said claims. Page Six However, shared legal documents showing the couple owing over a million dollars to the IRS only hours before the news of the split was broken, which caused speculations that the finances caused the split.
Kim has six kids, two from a previous marriage and four with Kroy. Zolciak is seeking full custody of the 4 kids she shares with Biermann while he is seeking to get their 1 million dollar house and alimony.
Bravo’s Executive Producer Andy Cohen revealed on his radio show “Andy Cohen Live” his shock stating that he has been texting back and forth with Kim. “I was very surprised. That was not the news I ever expected to get” Cohen states. However, not all Bravo stars were supportive, former Real Housewives of New York Cast member Bethenny Frankel slams the couple for the million dollars they owe. “Pay your Bills” Frankle urges them in a TikTok video.
This divorce hasn’t been the only one shaking the Bravo universe in the past months as Atlanta peaches Eva Marcille, Cynthia Bailey, and Drew Sidora have all announced their divorce. Sidora’s divorce from Ralph Pittman will play out on this upcoming season of RHOA that kicked off this past Sunday, whereas a mention of Bailey’s divorce from Mike Hill is unclear, as she returns in a “guest to the show” capacity after missing last season. Marcille however has been a frequent cast member on Peacock’s Spin Off Show “Ultimate Girls Trip” where multiple Housewives from all the franchises are put together on a trip for a week (in other terms the Avengers of Housewives). Marcille is scheduled to be in the upcoming season where she will most probably address her divorce from Michael Sterling.
