Movies coming to Theaters Near You in November 2023
Biosphere- AMC
It centers on two men (Sterling K. Brown, Mark Duplass) who have taken refuge in a biosphere and might be the last survivors on Earth. But while they go about their daily lives attempting to get by and support one another, they soon come upon something that will upend everything they have learned.
Blue Beetle- DC
The newest film in the DC world, Blue Beetle, is a superhero adventure that sacrifices grandiose scope for more intimate stakes. Xolo Maridueña, who plays Jaime Reyes, also known as the Blue Beetle, gives a powerful performance in this origin story, which allows for a more in-depth and genuine character analysis than in many of the lower-budget movies that came before it. It still has a lot of the same components, but what makes it unique is the family at its heart.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes- Lionsgate
The tenth annual Hunger Games, set in the dystopian world of Panem, is the backdrop for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. It tells the tale of Coriolanus Snow, who transforms into the despotic President Snow shown in the first film series. The story looks at issues of privilege, power, and the passing of youth. It explores the motivations of the characters in great detail and gives a compelling backdrop of the Hunger Games. Directed by Francis Lawerence, and starring Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schaefer, and Tom Blyth.
Next Goal Wins- Searchlight
An American biographical sports comedy-drama film, co-written by Taika Waititi and Iain Morris. It is based on the 2014 Mike Brett and Steve Jamison documentary of the same name, which followed Dutch-American coach Thomas Rongen's quest to get the American Samoa national football team—which is regarded as one of the worst teams in the world—to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Alongside Oscar Kightley, Kaimana, David Fane, Rachel House, Beulah Koale, Will Arnett, and Elisabeth Moss, Michael Fassbender plays Rongen.
Thanksgiving- Sony
A man brandishing an axe terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts locals following the tragic conclusion of a Black Friday riot. As the victims are eliminated one by one, what at first appears to be a senseless act of retaliation quickly turns into a more elaborate plot. Featuring Addison Rae, Patrick Dempsey, and Rick Hoffman with Eli Ross's directing.
Trolls Band Together- Universal
A follow up to Trolls (2016), Poppy learns that her favorite boy band formerly consisted of Branch and his four brothers. When one of his siblings, Floyd, gets abducted by a pair of wicked villains, Branch and Poppy embark on a grueling and emotional adventure to return home with the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a destiny far worse than pop cultural obscurity. In this Walt Dohm-directed picture, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake make a comeback alongside Troy Sivan, Camilla Cabello, and Rupaul.
May December- Netflix
A black dramady directed by Todd Hayes, Gracie (Julianne Moore), crumbles under the pressure of meeting a Hollywood actress, Elizabeth (Natalie Portman) who wants to research her for a movie about her history twenty years following her well publicized love affair.
Saltburn- MGM
A attractive and aristocratic classmate at Oxford University draws a student into his world and extends an invitation for a memorable summer stay on his eccentric family's expansive estate. Directed and written by Emerald Fennel, Saltburn stars Barry Keoghan as Oliver Quick and Jacob Elordi as Felix Catton.
Napoleon- Sony
Starring Joaquin Phoenix as notorious Napeoleon Bonaparte, Napoleon is an examination of the military commander's beginnings and his quick, brutal ascent to the throne, as seen through the lens of his obsessive and frequently erratic marriage to Josephine, his one and only real love.
Wish- Disney
Following several controversies online about Disney’s supposed use of AI to write several of the songs in this film, Wish tells the story of how a cosmic force known as Star grants young Asha's (Ariana Debose) wish because of its strength. Asha needs Star's assistance to free her realm from King Magnifico (Chris Pine) and demonstrate the amazing things that may occur when a brave person's determination and the power of the stars unite.
The Boy and the Heron- Gkids
After his mother passes away, 12-year-old Mahito finds it difficult to adjust to life in a new location. Mahito, however, travels to a another realm when he enters an abandoned tower in quest of his mother after learning from a talking heron that she is still alive. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
Monster- Well Go USA
A Japanese drama film from 2023 that was written by Yuji Sakamoto and directed and edited by Hirokazu Kore-eda. Sakura Andō plays a mother who notices unsettling changes in her son's conduct and approaches a teacher about it.
