OTT, the sole viable medium for entertainment amid pandemic - Manoj Bajpayee

As the covid-19 virus is hitting the planet continuously, the discharge of films in theatres seems to be impossible. Amid pandemic, the OTT platform has arisen as the only saviour for the entertainment industry.

"This is going on worldwide. There was just one medium of entertainment in an exceedingly situation like a lockdown when people couldn't even step out and do anything, ditch watching a movie in theatres. OTT has been the only savior for the show biz amid pandemic," said Bajpayee in an interview.

OTT platform isn't only booming the entertainment industry but is also equally helping the audience to remain far from all the negativities and boredom keeping them busy in various series and shows. There is no reason to disbelieve the fact that the coronavirus pandemic has a lot to do with mental health as well. It has also helped actors and actresses in keeping them busy and showcasing their talents on these platforms. The OTT has become dream come true for many.

“The various shows and films have been keeping people away from all the anxiety and stress. I again repeat, OTT is the only medium that has kept people entertained. It is a giant ocean from where people can choose what they want to binge-watch,” he noted. OTT boom is here to remain and he believes that it'll only grow.

He lauds the popularity of OTT platforms such as Amazon Prime Video. Hotstar VIP, Netflix, Voot select, Zee 5, Eros now, which have been increasingly attracting subscribers daily. He refers to his recently streamed series, THE FAMILY MAN, and also the movie, Silence….Can You Hear It?  which have almost succeeded in stealing the hearts of the audience, even though released over the top.
