Spider-Man “No Way Home” becomes a global hit during a pandemic

The blockbuster movie of Marvel Studios Spider-Man “No Way Home” becomes the first film to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office since the pandemic. The movie has crossed the $1 billion mark at the international box office collection.

It stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man/Peter Parker and Zendaya as Mary Jane (MJ). The latest Spider-Man Homecoming Franchise which is made in collaboration with Sony and Disney’s Marvel Studio is also the highest-grossing film of this year.

The latest Spider-Man movie is directed by Jon Watts, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has beaten the “Battle of Lake Changjin” Chinese movie which is based on the epic Korean War at the global level of cinema.

While the Chinese film made a business of over $905 million worldwide, Spider-Man grossed over $1 billion. According to the sources, the last film to cross the $1 billion mark in the international market was “The rise of Skywalker”.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, no other Hollywood film came near the $1 billion mark at the global box office. The box office collection of this latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film had reached a whopping $1.05 billion. The movie is yet to be released in China, which is currently the biggest cinema market in the world.

Spider-Man “No Way Home” is the fourth and most probably the last part of the Spider-Man Homecoming franchise. This film also stars actor Benedict Cumberbatch as ‘Doctor Strange’ who at the behest of Spider-Man tries to make everyone forget about Spider’s real identity and mistakenly lands up opening the multiverse of all villains.

The first film of Spider-Man Franchise to break the $1 billion mark at the global time Box office collection was Spider-Man: Far From Home, released in 2019. Tom Holland’s 3rd solo venture has collected $467.3 million in North America and $587 million globally. Within the period of 3-day Christmas weekend, the movie grossed $81.5 million in the North American market, in spite of other new releases. The movie goes on to break one of its own records by beating the other 2 movies of the same franchise.
