Shoojit Sircar and Vicky Kaushal's upcoming film 'Sardar Udham Singh', which was earlier scheduled to release on October 2, 2020, will be premiered on 16 October 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.
Just before the lockdown started in March 2020, Vicky Kaushal had announced one of the heroic projects of his career - Sardar Udham Singh, an Indian Hindi-language biographical film, where he would be seen playing the role of Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for murdering Michael O'Dwyer in London to take revenge in 1919, Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. Singh was tried in the attempt of murder and hanged in July 1940.
In alliance with Kino Works, the film is directed by Shoojit Sircar and developed by Rising Sun Films. Previously, the film was organized to release on October 2, 2020. However, due to the hitting of the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, it was rescheduled for January 2021.
As per the latest declarations, "Sardar Udham Singh will premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video during the Dussehra weekend this year. The makeshift release date of the movie, at the moment, is October 16 and the team is flawlessly excited to present their film to the audience. It was meant to release on theatres, however, an unpredictable situation has resulted in it to release over OTT."
Recently, Vicky Kaushal has completed dubbing for the biopic movie "Sardar Udham Singh." He shared a picture on Instagram from the recording studio, and the actor wrote, “Dubbed and dusted", giving a glimpse of his end of the shoot.
According to our trusted sources, the film was publicized to be a big-scale biopic and was prepared on a huge budget, and was decided earlier, to release at theatres. But, the team took a very long time during the post-production. It was revealed that the filming of ‘Sardar Udham Singh’ was closed out in December 2019.
This movie is all set to have a conflict on OTT with Taapsee Pannu's Rashmi Rocket, which is intended to premiere on ZEE5 this Dusshera. Rashmi Rocket is an Indian Hindi-language sports theatre film, directed by Akarsh Khurana and elicited by Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand, and Pranjal Khandhdiya. The film features Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, apace with Priyanshu Painyuli and Abhishek Banerjee. The shooting for Tapsee's film began in November last year and got muffled up in January 2021.
