Leah Van Dale, better known as WWE's Carmella, announces her pregnancy with her husband, wrestler turned announcer Corey Graves. After months of speculation due to Van Dale not being a part of wrestling's biggest event, WrestleMania, the couple confirmed the exciting news exclusively with Good Morning America (GMA).
The former Smackdown Women's Champion shared her excitement on Instagram with baby bump pictures, calling the baby "a little miracle". Van Dale suffered two back-to-back miscarriages last year, so it wasn't easy to be excited about this one. However, Van Dale remained optimistic and tried to have a positive mindset. While she admits the morning sickness has not been the easiest, Van Dale tells GMA that she’s “never been so happy to feel so awful".
Van Dale and Graves's journey as a couple started in 2019. They later tied the knot two years later, in April 2022. The start of their relationship was documented on E!'s hit reality show Total Divas and later on their own YouTube web series, Carmella & Corey. We got to see their relationship from the start and how it blossomed into what it is today.
The pregnancy journey and all its issues, however, weren't filmed, but Van Dale has been vocal on Graves's "After the Bell" podcast, where she shared how depressed she got after her miscarriages and how she had to take time off from wrestling, where she contemplated ever returning.
However, Van Dale made her grand return in February. She was competing alongside Chelsea Green as her tag team partner, gearing up for a WrestleMania tag team match. However, that return was cut short, with her last match being in March, where she competed for the Raw Women's Championship in a losing effort to Bianca Belair. After that, Carmella disappeared from TV with no explanation and was replaced by Sonya Deville as Green’s partner, which confused fans. It turns out she was pregnant!
Carmella is a history-maker in the WWE; she is the first female winner of Money in the Bank, and she is also the only female to win that match twice. Her resume also consists of a Smackdown Women’s title, a Women’s Tag Team Championship with Zelina Vega, and a WrestleMania Battle Royal win. However, she might not be the only historian in the family for long. With her due date in November, it seems like she was unknowingly wrestling pregnant, which means that the baby has already stepped into the squared circle without even being born.
Although this is Carmella's first child, she has some parenting experience under her belt. She is a stepmother to Graves's three children from a previous marriage. The kids were more than thrilled with the announcement of their new sibling in a now-viral video of their reaction.
