DRDO Tests Laser Weapon DEW MK-II(A) Successfully!

In a significant boost to India’s defense capabilities, the Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS), a DRDO laboratory, successfully conducted a field demonstration of the land-based Vehicle-Mounted Laser Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) MK-II(A) at Kurnool today. During the trial, the system effectively neutralized fixed-wing UAVs and swarm drones, causing structural damage and disabling onboard surveillance sensors. With this achievement, India joins the elite group of global powers possessing high-powered laser Directed Energy Weapon systems, marking a major milestone in the country’s journey toward self-reliance in advanced defense technologies.
