A Diwali Offer Announced By BEST To Promote Digital Bus Travel

The management of BEST has announced a Diwali offer to promote digital bus travel in the cities and suburbs. This unique offer provides users the opportunity to use five bus transfers in Mumbai for only 9 rupees and is valid for seven days.

On April 20, 2022, the State Environment inaugurated the first fully digital bus in Mumbai from the Gateway of India to the Churchgate route, which has a unique "tap-in-tap-out" feature.

This feature was introduced on ten buses on this route. It will later be extended to all 438 roads in the city. It is the country's first and aims to advance the digitization of the bus ticketing system. In addition, this system will provide convenience and comfort to travelers as they can log in with their smart card or through the "Chalo" app that can be installed on their smartphones.

At the end of the trip, travelers will receive a receipt on their cell phones if they use the app to get off, and they can also collect their ticket if they use the smart card. The tap-in tap-out feature will initially be available on two buses but will be expanded to 200 routes in the city.

BEST will also provide incentives for drivers and conductors who promote digital ticketing. The top ten drivers and conductors who raise awareness of the digital platform and attract more commuters will be rewarded.

Here are the details of the BEST Diwali 2022 offer for five bus rides for Rs 9.

➢  Five bus rides in Mumbai for Rs 9.

➢  It is a one-time offer valid for seven days.

➢  The offer is available between October 12 - October 31.

➢  The offer is valid for tickets up to a value of Rs 25.

➢  Commuters can avail of the benefits by booking a ticket through the digital ticketing app "Chalo" BEST.

➢  Open the "Chalo" app on your smartphone and click on "Diwali Offer" in the "Bus Pass" section.

➢  The offer is valid exclusively for users of the Chalo app BEST.

According to BEST, the goal is to have 30-40% of commuters soon using the digital platform daily. In addition, BEST Statistics show that more than 3.5 lakh commuters have opted for the 100-ride bus passes, which provide 50% savings on bus fares, as the bus fares are highly economically beneficial and flexible for all consumers from different backgrounds.

All commuters can board the buses of BEST and use the digital tap-in tap-out feature for smart cards to travel cashless, conveniently, and cost-effectively on the eco-friendly and silent electric buses of AC.

BEST has more than 35,000 passengers daily, a 9% increase in ridership over the period before COVID. So far, over 12,000 rides have been taken under various BEST offers, including the ₹1 Freedom Plan on Independence Day, the Ganesh Utsav offer on Ganesh Chaturthi, and the Dussehra offer during Navratri.
