In a shocking incident in Southeast Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin area, a 25-year-old man, identified as Azad Ahmad, was brutally stabbed to death by three juveniles on the night of December 21. The assailants, aged between 16 and 17, allegedly sexually assaulted one of them, leading to a vengeful murder. The perpetrators confessed to their crime, revealing that they planned and executed the revenge killing. After stabbing Azad Ahmad, they attempted to destroy evidence by setting his body on fire with dry grass and cloth. The half-burnt body was discovered near Khusro Park. Police swiftly responded to information received on December 23, apprehending the three juveniles in the Nizamuddin Basti area. The investigation unfolded as the accused disclosed their motive, citing repeated sexual assault by the deceased. The crime scene was meticulously examined by the police’s crime team, and the victim’s body was sent to AIIMS for autopsy. An FIR for murder and hiding evidence was registered, with recovered weapons including a sharp-edged weapon, stones, and a stick. Rajesh Deo, DCP (Southeast), stated that Azad Ahmad had a criminal history, with cases of assault and robberies against him. The juveniles claimed their actions were driven by a desire for revenge due to the alleged sexual exploitation by the deceased. This tragic incident underscores the complexity of the circumstances leading to such heinous acts and raises questions about the vulnerabilities and consequences faced by individuals involved in criminal activities.
