China lab leak is "very likely," to have caused the Corona Virus pandemic according to FBI

According to FBI Director Christopher Wray, the agency thinks Covid-19 "most likely" came from a "China government-controlled lab."

He told Fox News that the FBI had long believed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a "potential lab incident." This is the first instance in which the FBI's private estimate of how the pandemic virus emerged has been made public.

Due to a dearth of evidence, several scientists have refuted the lab leak theory. The decisions made by other US government agencies also differ from those made by the FBI.

Some of them have claimed, if with shaky assurance, that the virus didn't start in a lab, but rather that it traveled from animals to people. According to the White House, the US government as a whole is divided over its origins.

In a joint investigation conducted in 2021 by China and the World Health Organization (WHO), the lab leak theory was found to be highly improbable. A new investigation has since been requested by the WHO director-general, who stated that "all hypotheses remain open" and deserve more study in response to the WHO report's harsh criticism.

A day prior to Mr. Wray's remarks, the US ambassador to China urged China to "be more honest" regarding the origins of Covid.

According to Mr. Wray in his interview on Tuesday, China had been trying its best to try to "thwart and obfuscate" efforts to find the origin of the worldwide pandemic. He added, "And that's unfortunate for everybody."

Beijing's response was to accuse the United States of "political manipulation, " but the conclusions they reached, according to Mao Ning, a spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry, had zero credibility. Investigations suggest that the virus may have transfected people in Wuhan, China, at the market for seafood and wild animals. In close proximity to the marketplace is the Wuhan Institute of Virology, was a renowned virus research centre.

Subsequently a natural genesis is still the more likely scenario, claims Professor David Robertson, director of viral genomes and bioinformatics at the University of Glasgow. He stated this week that there has been a gathering of data that "firmly points to a natural genesis origin centred on the Huanan market in Wuhan city."

According to John Kirby, a spokesman for the White House National Security Council, US President Joseph Biden is in favour of "a whole-of-government effort" to figure out how Covid got started.

Furthermore tensions between the US and China have risen as a result of the most recent surveillance balloon scandal. A bipartisan group of US lawmakers launched a series of hearings this week on the "existential" threat the Communist Party in charge of China poses.

The first meeting of the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party focused heavily on human rights and the dependence of the American economy on Chinese manufacturing.
