Daughter Held For Killing Her Mother; Decomposed Body Parts Found

Rimple Prakash Jain, a 24 year old woman has been arrested for killing her own 53 year old mother Veena Prakash Jain on 15th March by Kalachowki Police. The FIR was filed under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing the destruction of evidence of a crime or providing misleading information) by the Indian Penal Code.

Veena’s relatives visited her house in Lalbaug, but found the door locked from inside and they became more suspicious due to the foul smell. So Veena’s brother and nephew filed a missing complaint to the Kalachowki Police on 14th March. When the police started the enquiry, the neighbours told them that they haven't seen Veena for nearly two months.

While the police knocked on the door, Rimple was sitting inside the house and they found chopped decomposed body parts wrapped in plastic bags inside a water tank and cupboards. Some other body parts were also found inside a steel vessel that was kept inside the bathroom.

Rimple, Veena’s brother and nephew had been detained for interrogation at first. Rimple told the police that she doesn't know where her mother is. Then later Rimple confessed that she killed her mother since they fought very frequently. Rimple used an electric marble cutter, chopper and a knife to cut the body into pieces. Rimple used more than 200 perfume bottles and many air fresheners to hide the bad smell that came from the decomposing body parts.

A team of forensic, fingerprint experts and CBI were present at the crime scene. The police reported that the murder must have happened between December or January. The cause of the death is yet to be discovered. Veena’s body was sent to KEM Hospital for the post-mortem report for further investigation.
