The CBI detained Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday in the Delhi liquor scam case after questioning him for around eight hours. The arrest did not surprise the Aam Aadmi Party, since Sisodia expressed concern about it today. Thus did Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who told Sisodia that the party would look for his family. Manish Sisodia is an honest man. He has been serving the country. He worked hard for underprivileged students and transformed government schools in Delhi.
Today he has been arrested. We are seeing how honest and nationalist people are getting arrested nationwide," Kejriwal said. Whenever the oppressor will oppress from the corridors of power, the slogans of revolution will echo every minute! "Let me in no uncertain terms tell you that Manish Sisodiya is an innocent man; these are malicious, fabricated charges against him," said Raghav Chada, AAP MP, in an interview with NDTV. He condemned BJP on the arrest of Sisodiya. He further said," Aam aadmi party is a party born out of struggle, a people's movement. We are not afraid or scared of CBI, ED, income tax". The former chief minister of UP, Akhilesh Yadav also condemned the arrest of Mr. Sisodiya.
Following the arrest, BJP's Sambit Patra conducted a press conference, claiming that no education minister in the world has been arrested for liquor policy. "This is eye-opening. Condemnable to open liquor stores in front of schoolchildren and then receive a 12% commission. Manish ji, you messed with the lives of the children", according to the BJP leader.
Arvind Kejriwal, AAP party leader, and Delhi's chief minister said Mr. Sisodia was innocent and the arrest was "dirty politics". "There is a lot of anger among people because of Manish's arrest. People are watching everything. People will respond to this," Kejriwal tweeted. "This will boost our spirit. Our struggle will get stronger.” " I am told that most CBI officers were against Manish's arrest. All of them have huge respect for him and there is no evidence against him. But the political pressure to arrest him was so high that they had to obey their political masters,"he tweeted in one of his tweet.
