The Indian government decided to start a vaccination program for citizens from age 15-18 from January 3. The Maharashtra state government held 9 centres in Mumbai for the vaccination program. Parents are requested to assure their children's vaccine. Children of the birth year 2007 or earlier are eligible for vaccination.
For the beneficiaries (15-18-year-old citizens), the vaccination option is "Covaxin" only. Registration facilities will be available through offline and online modes. They can register their dose on the Co-Win website (cowin.gov.in) as well as onsite. For such beneficiaries, the option for vaccination would be available for Covaxin as this is the only vaccine with EUL (WHO Emergency Use Listing Procedure) for this age group.
Mild symptoms like fever and body pain are common for children after taking the vaccination. State Minister of Tourism and Environment, Aaditya Thackrey, will inaugurate the Covid Kendra at Bandra Kurla Complex on January 3 at 11 AM. More than 1500 cases of the Omicron variant of coronavirus have been detected in India, as of Sunday. The fast-spreading variant has reached 23 states of the country, the government declared on Saturday. The centre has issued an advisory to states to check the spread of Covid-19 in the country. The states have been advised to initiate the process of setting up temporary hospitals and control rooms to monitor cases.
Prevention is the best cure for the upcoming danger, the omicron variant of the Coronavirus. This is just a small step to contain and minimize the damage it would cause.
