
A goods train handled by a private cement company derailed on Monday early morning in Odisha, Bargarh. This incident occurred 3 days after the triple train accident in Balasore that claimed 288 lives.
Wagons of a goods train operated by a private cement company derailed in Bargarh on Monday. The train derailed near Mendhapali of Bargarh district in Odisha inside the factory premises.
According to East Coast Railway, there is no role of Railways in this matter. This is nothing but the narrow gauge siding of an ACC cement plant in Bargarh. All the infrastructure including the rock, engine, wagon, and train track are being maintained by the company.
A statement by the Eastern Railway System said “There is a private narrow gauge rail line Between Dungri Limestone Mines And the Cement Plant Of Acc Bargarh. The line, wagons, and locomotives all are private. It is not connected with the Indian Railway system in any way. A derailment happened on that railway line in the early morning today. It is not connected with the Indian railway system," Five bogies of the train got derailed when it was reaching Bhangarh from Dunguri.
The train was carrying limestone which got derailed. News Agency PTI was saying no injury or casualty was reported. Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav ordered a probe into this accident which was caused most probably by a signalling failure. The Odisha Vande Bharat Express crossed Bahanaga Bazar Railway station on Sunday night after the restoration of the railway tracks on Sunday early morning. The Railway Minister told ANI that restoration started as soon as the Prime Minister gave instructions. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given orders to restore the railway tracks.
The whole team worked hard to fix the damaged rails for the restoration of the railway services. The team worked diligently so that the common people were not deprived of railway services. He said that service on both railway tracks has been restored now and normal train services were restored nearly 51 hours after the tragic triple train accident.
The train accident included the Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, and goods train at Bahanaga Bazar station. The accident occurred in the Balasore district on three separate tracks. Vaishav on Sunday said that the accident occurred due to electronic interlocking.
