Historical Wins at the 2023 Grammys

This Sunday, the 2023 Grammys aired, and some artists took home multiple awards. The artist in focus, though, was Beyoncé, as she made history with her wins. The solo artist now stands as the most decorated artist in Grammys’ history, with a totaling win of 32 awards. This breaks the previous record set in 1997. Upon her recently released album Renaissance, Beyoncé held nine nods and took home three awards.

Viola Davis is another household name that takes home an enormous victory tonight as she achieves the exclusive EGOT status. Her wins include an Emmy for How to Get Away with Murder, an Oscar for Fences, A Tony award for both King Hedley and Fences, and now a Grammy for Finding Me. She is the 18th person in history to do so.

Both women make historical advances as Beyoncé breaks the record for Grammy wins, and Davis becomes the 18th person to collect all four prestigious awards.
