
International organization ACI has rated Delhi Airport as one of the best airports and the cleanest airport in the Asia Pacific area.
DIAL's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), which serves over 40 million passengers annually, won the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Best Airport Award for 2022. (MPPA). Moreover, the Airports Council International ranked it the cleanest airport in the Asia Pacific area (ACI).
ACI is a nonprofit organization made up of airport executives. GMR Airports Infrastructure Ltd. is a consortium that includes Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).
In the previous, Delhi Airport received the highest category of more than 40 MPPA for four years in a row, in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, and was named the best airport in the Asia-Pacific region. The annual ASQ Forum and Customer Experience World Conference, which includes the ASQ Awards Ceremony, will take place in Incheon, Republic of Korea, on September 6, 2023.
"The ASQ programme is the world's top airport customer experience measuring and benchmarking system. This accolade is based on real-time research from surveys taken directly from passengers at the airport who rate their level of satisfaction on the day of travel, "In a Monday press statement, DIAL stated.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) stated in a separate press release that Tiruchirappalli International Airport has been named the best airport in the Asia Pacific area for under 2 million passengers by ACI. Tiruchirappalli Airport in Tamil Nadu is managed by the AAI, a government-owned company.
Meanwhile several airports in India received honors in various categories at the same time. For instance, Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport also won the prize for the finest airport in the Asia-Pacific area; it was given the title of best airport in the category for facilities serving more than 40 million people.
In a similar vein, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru won the prize for being the world's finest airport for arrivals. For the Asia-Pacific region's top airport serving 15 to 25 million people annually, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad won the prize. The Asia-Pacific region has named the Tiruchirapalli International Airport the best airport with under 2 million passengers.
