Nigeria: Presidential Tribunal To Deliver Judgement on the 6th of September, 2023, allows Live Broadcast, the swearing-in ceremony for Tinubu’s ministers.

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPT) is expected to deliver the greatly anticipated judgment on Wednesday, 6th September 2023.

Umar Bangari, the Registrar of the Court of Appeal confirmed this to Channels Television on Monday, saying the proceedings will be open to live broadcast by interested television stations.

The Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), and their Presidential candidates, had earlier petitioned the Tribunal seeking to annul the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the Presidential Election conducted in February 2023.

Along the same vein, judgment is also expected to be delivered by election tribunals in 25 states for governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly Election Petitions.

In no fewer than 25 states out of the 28 states where elections were conducted, the results of the polls announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are being contested.

The Swearing-in Ceremony of the 45-man Cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was held at the Conference Centre of the State House in Abuja, at the end of one week of releasing the portfolios of the confirmed Ministers.

On Sunday, 20th August, President Bola Tinubu rearranged his Cabinet Minister when he named Engr. Abubakar Momoh from Edo State as substantive Minister for Niger Delta Development following an outcry from the region over the omission of the ministry in the apportionment of portfolios to ministers-designate last week. Meanwhile, Abubakar Momoh was previously assigned to the Ministry of Youth, which will now have another minister appointed eventually.

Moreover, according to the statement, both Ministers of State in the Oil and Gas sector are now domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, with Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri being the Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources, and Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo being the Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources.
