Rise in crime against women: A 20-year-old woman allegedly raped and killed in Bihar

Vaishali, Bihar: The local police of the Vaishali district in Bihar found the corpse of a 20-year-old woman in a canal near the culvert between Bindi Chowk and Shahpur Chowk in the Jandaha block. The area comes under the jurisdiction of the Tisiauta police. The woman is said to have been sexually assaulted by the accused. The deceased was taken to the Hajipur Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and additional investigation is underway. Reportedly, it had been five days after she was forcefully taken away by the accused from her Shahpur residence in Vaishali.

Similar incidents have been documented in the past, with many of them still awaiting judicial resolution. A recent episode of sexual assault on a lady was reported in September.

According to a source, the locals were the ones who saw the body floating in the canal and called the authorities.

A report by Dainik Bhaskar suggests that the victim’s mother went to the panchayat for assistance, but they told her to file an FIR because her daughter would return in two days. Manoj Choudhary, Rakesh Kumar, Anshu Kumar, and Anurag Kumar are the accused in this incident. Six other unnamed individuals from the same area have also played a role in this incident. Prabhunath Yadav, the station house officer of Tisiauta police station, gave this information to a reporter over the phone on Monday.
