This year's royal wedding comes from "It Girl" royalty, with Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge's viral wedding.
The 24-year-old model and designer first gained social media attention when she began to receive "It Girl" status this year for her 360 transformations. Richie was labeled a party girl with her late nights, scandals, and infamous boyfriend choices like Scott Disick. Since then, Richie has ditched the body con mini dresses for pant suits and slicked-back ponytails and met her now husband, who is the image of sophistication. Fans idolize Richie for growing out of her scandalous phases and growing into the look she puts on now.
Richie and Graineg met through Richie's father, the legendary singer Lionel Richie who knows Elliot Grainge's father, chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, Sir Lucian Grainge. Elliot Grainge takes after his father, as he is currently a music executive and founder of 10K Projects.
The couple got engaged in April 2022 after just a year of dating, but according to Richie's Instagram post from that day, it doesn't seem to matter because "Forever isn't long enough," Richie says in the caption of her post. A year later, the couple married at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, South of France, which took social media by storm. The wedding process took a year, but according to the luxury event planning company used by the Grainge's, the wait was well worth it. "From our initial brainstorm to the grand finale, our synchronized vision and seamless collaboration made our job truly enjoyable, and the end result was nothing short of spectacular," shared Banna Split's Founder, Julian Posner, on their Instagram post regarding the wedding.
Richie wore three custom made Chanel gowns for all three of her wedding events, including the wedding itself. In Richie's post showing off the stunning high-neck sequenced gown, she thanks Chanel for their hand in her wedding. "I want to thank Virginie, Olivia, and all of my Chanel family for helping make my wedding dress so special. I felt like a princess and will forever be grateful for them and this experience." Richie says in her caption.
Richie describes the wedding on her social media as magical, and with guests like Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton, and live performances from Good Charlotte, how could it not be.
