TDP leader Vinod Jain's sexual harassment led a minor girl to commit suicide

In Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada, a 14-year-old girl jumped from the fifth floor of a building committed suicide, alleged sexual harassment by TDP leader Vinod Jain. The girl who ended her life was studying in class 10. She wrote a suicide note mentioning that she is ending her life due to unbearable sexual harassment by TDP leader Vinod Jain.


Chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy reacted to the incident and directed the police authority to ensure justice. The Vijayawada police have booked the accused under the IPC and Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act.


West Zone ACP K Hanumantha mentioned to news sources, "A minor girl jumped to death from the fifth floor of her apartment building on Saturday. She wrote in the suicide note that she was ending her life due to sexual harassment by Vinod Jain, who resides in the same building". ACP K Hanumantha Rao also added that the police have arrested the accused. He contested the recent municipal elections as a corporation on a TDP ticket. 


The incident has sent shock waves in the city, while the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded the harshest punishment to the culprit. The family members of the victim mentioned that she looked depressed since morning. When her grandfather inquired about it, she did not say anything. Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas termed the incident as a shocking incident. She mentioned that the kind of harassment the girl has faced is shocking. It is unspeakable what the girl has mentioned in the suicide note. The minister also alleged that TDP president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was encouraging such folks, leading to crimes against women and children.


YSRCP legislator and actor R K Roja mentioned about the minor girl committing suicide that a 60-year-old man sexually harassing a 14-year-old girl and driving her to suicide is a heinous crime. She alleged that many women and children became victims of rapes and sexual harassment during the TDP rule. So she called upon women to stage protests across the state to seek stringent action against such criminals.


Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita questions TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu, why he did not respond to the incident of a minor girl committing suicide because of sexual harassment by Vinod Jain. In a press statement on Sunday, the Minister informed the media that she has directed the police 


officials to take strict action against the accused and assured that stern action will be taken against the accused.


Meanwhile, Vinod Jain is a member of the 37th ward of The Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Jain has suspended from the party after the sexual harassment incident.
