The world’s richest man Elon Musk, with a net worth of $268 billion, has taken over Twitter after the board of Twitter accepted the offer of $44 billion on Monday. This big buzz has surely created a tittle-tattle in the town.
In his speech, Musk stated that “democracy is all about freedom and with such platforms freedom of speech is very crucial”.
According to him, opinions play a very vital role as Twitter is the platform where any information is passed on. Musk also wants to remove advertisement content which twitter used to get majority of funding.
Twitter is currently led by Parag Agarwal who took over from the co-founder Jack Dorsey in November 2021.
Elon Musk also guaranteed that he will wipe out all such fake accounts which carry rumoured information so that Twitter platform will become more credible and authentic. Being a billionaire, he is not more into making money but more towards subscriptions as every social media platform is free to use. Data monetization or not paying for the data by the users can be the new policy of Elon Musk's new asset ‘Twitter’.
After the takeover, people, policymakers and lawmakers have different concepts in Washington, as many Republicans oppose Twitter's content policies. But after Musk's takeover of Twitter, they applauded the deal. On the other hand, Democrats' ideology speaks that giving everything to a billionaire can become dangerous as he is becoming a more powerful person.
Tesla owner has always been active and vocal in his Twitter account as he has more than 80 million followers. His promotional tool for the Tesla car was primarily Twitter and after becoming the owner of such a platform it will become more like the epitome of his business.
Last year, former US President Donald Trump was permanently banned for violation from Twitter but after Musk's takeover it is being predicted that Trump may come back. Stating to CNBC he said: “If Musk reversed me from Twitter then also I won’t come back as the way Twitter behaved with me was very disappointing”.
By taking over Twitter, its employees are full of enthusiasm and a bit of anxiety as Twitter will change with the unpredictable billionaire owner.
In 2009, China banned Twitter and being the second-largest hub of Tesla in 2021, with the only exporter of Tesla’s EV battery makers, it is to be seen what lies ahead for the relationship between China and Twitter owner Elon Musk.
Elon Musk also shared a leg-pulling tweet after taking over the platform.
Let’s make Twitter maximum fun!
