In the early hours of Monday, two groups clashed near a bus stop in the Ramgarh sector of the Samba district along the India-Pakistan border, injuring three individuals, among them a citizen of Punjab, in a shooting incident.
With the shooting that occurred at about 4 am near the Rangoor bus stop, two Punjab citizens were also detained.
Benam Tosh, a senior superintendent of police, went to the scene of the incident and is responsible for supervising the inquiry.
The authorities claimed they are looking at every possibility, including narcotics smuggling. Tosh quoted, ''A firing incident had taken place, resulting in injuries to three persons. We are thoroughly investigating the matter.''
The three Punjab residents arrived at Rangoor in Ramgarh in a vehicle with a Chandigarh registration, according to the officials, and allegedly opened fire on some people.
The officials speculate that the altercation and subsequent shooting incident may have been caused by old animosity and rivalry.

In connection with the incident, Satinderpal Singh and Jagpreet Singh, both inhabitants of Taran Taran in Punjab, were detained. Upon learning about the occurrence, local sarpanch Kali Dass appealed for a thorough investigation.
