
The statue which is set to be unveiled in Hyderabad is a 216 ft. statue of quality and is marked as the second-largest sitting statue in the world.
A 216ft. statue of social reformer and saint, Ramanujacharya is all set to be unveiled on February 5th in Hyderabad.
Ramanuja was a Hindu theologian and Indian philosopher. He was also called a social reformer and known as one of the most important exponents of the Sri Vaishnavism tradition within Hinduism. His philosophical foundations for devotions were influential to the Bhakti movement. His important contribution towards philosophy was his insistence which is necessary for humanity’s search for ultimate verities.
Prime minister Narendra Modi will be unveiling the statue, billed as the world’s second-largest sitting position statue in the world. It is built in the 45 acre complex on the outskirts of the city, as per a statement issued by Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s ashram.
The statue is composed of “panchaloha”, meaning 5 metals including brass, gold, copper, zinc, and silver.
This is a 1000cr project that was funded by donations from devotees all over the world. The inner Sanctorum is made of 120 kilos of gold to commemorate the 120 years Ramanujacharya spent on earth.

In a statement, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy was quoted saying “ we heartily welcome everyone including chief guests, dignitaries, devotees, and people from all walks of life for the grand opening of the statue of equality. Bhagavad Ramanujarchaya has remained a true icon of equality for 1000 years and this project will ensure his teachings are practiced for another 1000 years”.
To celebrate the 1000th birth anniversary many events including a 1035 yajna (fire ritual) and other activities such as mass manta have been planned.
Events start from 2nd February and will be attended by several chief ministers, politicians, celebrities including the chief minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao.
