Your iPhone Says A Lot About You

iPhones are smartphones sold by a large technology company called Apple that enables users to take photos, make phone calls, and allows them to do a wide variety of other tasks. They are available in a variety of colors, with Apple recently adding the color yellow.

Have you ever wondered what the color of your iPhone means? Leading psychologist Kate Smith, has revealed that the color of your iPhone could actually reveal a lot about you.

Smith spoke with the Wall Street Journal to discuss her observations.

Yellow

If you opted for a brand-new yellow iPhone, it is likely that you stay cheerful under challenging or stressful situations. Smith says, “when there is uncertainty in the world, we are drawn to brighter colors.”

Lavender

Those who appreciate life’s complexities are most attracted to this color. According to Smith, you may also be drawn to this color by pop-culture influences.

Red

If red is more your style, it is likely you seek attention and want to stand out among the crowd.

Green

Green phones are not new for Apple, but the shade has different variations. Smith says all greens indicate intelligence and a community-focused mindset, but a lighter shade hints at more empathy.

While working through problematic scenarios, someone with a darker green iPhone might try to take charge and assert leadership. Those with softer shades will tend to be more diplomatic and take less of a heavy-handed approach.

Blue

Those who own blue iPhones are trustworthy or want to be seen as such. However, they come with what could be considered by some as a flaw, as they have a knack for daydreaming, according to Smith.

Black

If you have a black iPhone, you are probably confident in your abilities and exhibit strength. People who choose this color generally have strong opinions.

You may have noticed there are two colors left off of this study, grey and Starlight. It is unclear why both colors were omitted. Starlight appears to be a white or cream color. Based on research, there are many different meanings associated with the color white. Those meanings range from positive and optimistic to independent and organized.

As for the color grey. It can mean neutrality and balance.
