‘Youth Icon 2022’ Backed By Banner Lanamai James From Manipur

The first Rubaru Mr. India Youth Icon 2022 title of the 18th Rubaru Mr. India 2022 competition was won on Wednesday by Banner Lanamai James of Manipur's Senapati district. 

The Crowne Plaza hosted the gathering. Chennai Adyar Park in Tamil Nadu. Grand finale of the 18th Rubaru Mr. India 2022 championship. The prestigious Rubaru, Mr. India title, has been won for the second consecutive year by a contestant from Manipur. 

Banner, a resident of the Karong constituency's Lower Khamsom hamlet, also won the prize for the finest national costume during the contest. During the federal costume portion of the competition, he proudly displayed the festive attire of the Poumai Naga tribe. James claims that his mother hand-woven the selection in his competition costume. 

The first Rubaru Mr. India champion from Manipur's Ukhrul district, Songashim Rungsung, was given the same honor the year before. Manipur won the national costume competition in India as a result. 

James Lanamai, son of the late James Lanamai and Karaiba Pungdina, currently resides in New Delhi and is a Poumai Naga from Manipur. He is a freelance model and simultaneously attends English literature and linguistics graduate school. 

He vigorously promotes a healthy, toxin-free lifestyle and actively works to increase public awareness of the significant problem of substance usage. Additionally, he has participated in several projects to inform the public about the detrimental effects of such poisonous compounds on health. 

He also supports environmental causes and has participated in several tree-planting activities in his state. At 22, he was among the youngest contestants in the Rubaru Mr. India competition this year. 

India's most prominent and longest-running male beauty contest is Rubaru, Mr. India. Because of his victory at the Rubaru Mr. India championship, Manipur is one of the best-performing states in the Indian men's pageant industry. The competition began in 2004.

In a statement to the media, Banner Lanamai James said that being selected as one of the finalists in the enormous and prestigious pageant was a dream come true because he had always dreamt of it as a young child. He also described feeling extremely honored to be a part of the pageant. 

The finalist said that in addition to himself, Banner Lanamai James would also speak for his family, town, and his state. So he has been working extremely hard. In addition, Banner said that he is eager to be among the finalists and prepared to give everything he has. The competitor is hoping to bring home the trophy this year.
