The Table Tennis Team Makes The University of The Free State Proud!

  • We are uncontrollably proud as our UFS table tennis team bagged second place in the University Sport South Africa (USSA). The games took place in Kimberly at Sol Plaatje University, the Northern Cape province, from the 18th of March 2022 till the 21st of March 2022. In the single games from the males' side, UFS's very own Matthys Jonathan Pieters managed to win all his games taking home a gold medal. While on the females' side we have Boingotlo Siphokazi Mothupi who managed to get second place in the female singles. 

In the mixed doubles, Boingotlo Sipjokazi Mothupi and Matthys Jonathan Pieters secured first place, bringing home a gold medal. In the males' doubles,  Itumeleng Malinga and Matthys Jonathan Pieters managed to win all their games bringing home gold medals. In the females' doubles, Boingotlo Siphokazi Mothupi and Tidimalo Senye managed to get a second-place taking home silver medals. In the group games, Lebohang Motswheneng and Lefu Radebe managed to win their games and get second place taking home the silver medals. Overall the UFS Table Tennis Team bagged second place, taking home silver medals. Undoubtedly, the team has made us proud.
