Another Mass Shooting in America; 3 dead, 1 injured

At least three people were found to be dead while three others were found to be injured including the shooter and a police official in a mass shooting that happened last Thursday at a manufacturing facility in the north of Smithsburg.


The Sheriff’s office revealed they responded to the shooting incident around 2:30 pm and when they arrived they found four gunshot victims of which three were dead already. The suspected shooter fled at first but then ran into a law official and the two had a shootout which resulted in both of them being injured. An update was given by another law official, concerning both individuals, the law official that was injured is said to be doing well and the suspect is still undergoing treatment. 


More information concerning the suspect has been released, the suspect is said to be a 23-year-old man who worked at the manufacturing facility known as Columbia Machine. His motive has however not been found or determined. His name also has not been released yet because no charges have been filed but the make of the weapon used has been identified. It is said that he used a semi-automatic handgun to carry out this attack.


The victims were revealed to be Mark Alan Frey, 50; Charles Edward Minnick Jr.31; and Joshua Robert Wallace, 30 who are all dead but the fourth victim who was injured is Brandon Chase, 42. All the victims listed above were employees at Columbia Machine. This shooting is said to be the latest shooting done by unsatisfied workers or former workers of an establishment. Assault is said to be the fourth-leading cause of workplace deaths according to the National Safety Council.


The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are said to be assisting the local officials working on this case. This incident is said to be the 245th mass shooting that has happened this year in America alone. More laws have yet to be released to tackle the current problem of gun control in America. The issue of gun control is currently a hot topic in America.
