Award Winning Bollywood Actor, Satish Kaushik’s Shocking Death

A Great Man


Many fans and colleagues were shocked to hear on Wednesday that the award-winning actor Satish Kaushik, 66, died from a heart attack. Kaushik was visiting a local friend in Gurugram when his health worsened and he suffered a heart attack in New Delhi, which then led to his passing. Born on April 13th of 1956, Kaushik became a successful actor, producer, writer, comedian, and director who has been in more than 146 movies (according to IMDB), including hits such as Mr.India, Masoom, Thar, Deewana Mastana, Chhatriwali, Ram Lakhan, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, and countless more. Kaushik started his career in theater and then later transitioned to film in 1983 with his debut film,  Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. He directed over 18 films such as Kaagaz, Vaada, In Your Name, Prem, and many others. His latest film release will be Emergency. He will be playing the role of late Defence Minister Jagjivan Ram in a period drama. After that, he is projected to play his final role in the film Guns & Gulaabs, which is soon to be released on Netflix.


 


Impact of Loss 


Hours before his death, the actor was seen celebrating Holi with many Bollywood colleagues. As you can imagine, many of his fans and supporters were shocked by the news and sent their condolences and sang his praises. Colleagues such as Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Javed Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor, Subhash Ghai, and countless other Bollywood actors, colleagues, and other supporters mourned his death and talked about the impact he had in their lives. Many expounded upon the joy and encouragement he left on others, from colleagues to everyday average citizens. One of his closest friends, Anupam Kher expressed his feelings on Twitter about the passing of his dear friend. Anupam Kher states, “I know ‘death is the ultimate truth of this world!’ But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you, SATISH! Om Shanti!”. 


 


 


Goodbye


His body was taken from Fortis in New Delhi to Delhi’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital for post-mortem to confirm his cause of death (a heart attack). Kaushik's funeral procession will take place on Thursday, March 9 at his residence in Mumbai and he is soon to be cremated at Versova crematorium. Many colleagues came in support not only to pay respects to Kaushik and his family and to remember his impact on them and the industry.  Kaushik leaves behind his wife, Shashi, and his daughter, Vanshika. Rest in Peace, Satish Kaushik, and condolences to his friend and family. Satish Kaushik will be remembered not only for his movies but for the lasting impact he left on each person who viewed his work.
