The Queen Is Dead, Long Live The King

After a her long life Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in her many years of servitude, loyalty, dignity, respect, and Love. HRM Queen Elizabeth has passed away peacefully at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle, United Kingdom on the 8 September 2022.


In her reign as Queen from the early age of 25 till her last dying breath, HRM Queen Elizabeth ruled for over 70 years, reaching her platinum jubilee in early June, and claimed the title of second longest ruling monarch. Politico News states that she was head of state for over 15 countries and the ceremonial head of Commonwealth of Nations.


Upon HM’S passing, the Hindustan Times states that His Royal Majesty King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla and Princess Anne were already by HM’s side with Prince William, Edward and his wife Sophie having arrived in the late afternoon, and Prince Harry and Meghan as the last in the early evening. With her death, BBC News states that HRM King Charles III claimed the title for longest serving heir apparent in British history as at the age of 73 he is the oldest person to assume the throne.


In her last public appearance, HRM appointed Liz Truss as UK’s third female Prime Minister, after a long list of 56 Prime Ministers before her, at Balmoral Castle. As the Guardian writes, her first public speech at Downing Street as Prime Minister was a eulogy for HRM Queen Elizabeth II in honor of her long dedicated reign as Queen of England.


After many years of waiting to take on his destined role as King, HRM King Charles III never expected to receive his crown through the death of his mother, the one person on earth whom he believed was capable of overseeing his upcoming reign over England and her realms. On 9 September 2022, CNN News states HRM King Charles III makes his first appearance on television after the death of his mother to express his condolences and wish her his last goodbyes.


“As the Queen herself did with such unswerving devotion, I too now solemnly pledge myself, throughout the remaining time God grants me, to uphold the Constitutional principles at the heart of our nation,” the King proclaimed. He added, “And wherever you may live in the United Kingdom, or in the Realms and territories across the world, and whatever may be your background or beliefs, I shall endeavor to serve you with loyalty, respect and love, as I have throughout my life.” Just like his mother HRM Queen Elizabeth, HRM King Charles III plans to carry on the legacy of HM.
