Want to Help Children All Over the World? It Is Possible

More than 880 million people worldwide are disadvantaged – living in underdeveloped countries, which means people are underprivileged.

The UNCTAD designates 46 least developed countries in a list on their website. At the top of the list are Afghanistan, Angola, and Bangladesh - and at the bottom are the United Republic of Tanzania, Yemen, and Zambia.

How are they characterized as disadvantaged?

According to the United Nations, “The low level of socio-economic development in least developed countries' is characterized by historically weak development capacity, low and unequally distributed income and scarcity of domestic financial resources.”

People suffer by lacking access to clean water, feeding resources, healthcare, and education. Those who suffer most are children.

How can we help them?

Many associations offer the opportunity to sponsor someone to help them have a better quality of life.

For example, World Vision offer people the chance to sponsor a child anywhere in the world, including in Vietnam, Senegal, Bolivia, and Salvador.

By sponsoring a child, you are helping a whole community. The donation is monthly; you can give a fixed amount of money each month, but the money is not directly given to the child’s family. The monthly donation will be added with other donations to fund programs that will benefit these children and their community.

Winner of Miss France and Miss Universe, Iris Mittenaere, who currently lives in Bangladesh, has already shared her support by sponsoring a child. Her voice has a significant impact due to her global renown. She shares her visits on social media to demonstrate the good work that organizations like World Vision can do, encouraging her followers to do the same.

Pictures of her giving gifts and meeting children have been shared online to spread the message.

Any donations, whether small or large, impact the community, and when people have nothing, it means the world to them.
