Humanity

All of us are human beings. Yes, we are.

What about being a human as a trait? Do you think we all got it? I doubt.

If we zoomed out and observed silently every single issue and problem that is taking place on this planet, we would find out that the leading cause and the main reason this problem is happening is the lack of humanity.

• Why do we stop practicing humanity?!

• Why have we stopped teaching our children to be aware of never losing it no matter what they will face in their lives?

• Why do we underestimate the power of humanity?

The answer is because this fast, insane, and driven world is now changing the meaning of everything, and in return, it is changing us, our reality, our origin, and who we are!!

It makes you believe that being a human means being weak, which is absurd because you can never enjoy humanity inside of you when you are weak. When you are weak, you will require someone or even something to show you humanity and give you hope, so you need to be strong to be able to do that.

It makes you believe that you should teach your children to be tough, strong, and maybe rude sometimes to be able to live and perform in a good way in this life. And here is the big lie which says, “if you are not a wolf, you will be eaten by one,” so if you want to be respected, you should be one! Since when does being solid and rigid have anything to do with not being a human?! Why are we preventing our children and the whole new coming generations from enjoying their humanity? And yes, I will keep repeating the word enjoying because it is something to enjoy, something that makes you feel at peace.

The world wants you to believe that humanity has no power, which is ridiculous and will never make sense if we understand its beauty and meaning.

Humanity is the kind word you tell someone or even yourself.

Humanity is that look you give to someone who needs to feel seen, heard, or secure.

Humanity is about not being selfish.

Humanity is being able to see and look beyond the surface and from different perspectives.

Humanity is observing the need and responding no matter what without saying it is not my business.

Humanity is the opposite of every evil and wrong in this world. So it could be in your words, your looks, your behavior, your attitude, and even in your touch.

It is never late, and if you feel like you have lost it, you can bring it back to your heart and mind if you want it. And always remember that you don’t deserve to be called a human unless you are an actual human. So touch the world with your humanity and see the difference.

Humanity is not a new term or a slogan used to claim virtue. On the contrary, it is a well-known word from ancient times, and many famous and influential personalities spoke about it in more than one place.

· "You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty." – Mahatma Gandhi

· "To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity." – Nelson Mandela

· "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive." – Dalai Lama

· "The greatness of humanity is not in being human, but in being humane." – Mahatma Gandhi

· "The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity." – Leo Tolstoy

· "During bad circumstances, which is the human inheritance, you must decide not to be reduced. You have your humanity, and you must not allow anything to reduce that. We are obliged to know we are global citizens. Disasters remind us we are world citizens, whether we like it or not." – Maya Angelou

Humanity is not primarily related to humans towards humans. Therefore, society must also be practiced toward animals, plants, and everything alive.

And if you don't know how to practice or show humanity, here are some tips:

·     Always look for the good in people. Just like there are two sides to every story, we all have our good and bad sides too. Don't be quick to judge others based on the wrong things they've done. Condemnation never brings out the best in people. Altruism and sympathy do.

·     Focus on people's potential. Everyone has potential, so instead of putting them down, help them realize it.

·     Choose to love, not to hate. If we all look for reasons to hate each other, we will find, and if we look for reasons to love each other, we will also see.

·     Treat everyone as equals. Try to think a little. No one is better than the other. No money, power, beauty, or even superiority of any kind makes one of us better than the other.

·     Love yourself. Beauty is not in things but in ourselves. We project it on something, so you must start loving yourself first.

·     Love everyone as you would love your brothers and sisters. Because we are brothers and sisters in this world, blood is not the only thing that makes us a brother/sister.

·     Forgive. Just like how God has forgiven us and accepted us back time and time again, we too should learn to forgive and accept others despite their shortcomings.

·     Show compassion. If you want to show your love for humanity, start by caring about what other people are going through.

·     Give back to the community. Giving back to your community may not benefit all of the humankind directly. But remember that a single drop of water can cause countless ripples.

·     Smile even to strangers.

·     Care about and help others. Everybody in this world has their issues.

·     Be grateful for what you have.

·     Listen. When you do, you can understand better, feel better and help better.
