New year New Thoughts

With a fresh start of the year, it’s that time of the year again when people tend to make several resolutions & promises to fulfil in the coming months. There are many resolutions made during the new year, such as losing or gaining weight, developing a new hobby, keeping the house clean, etc. In addition to making some resolutions for the betterment of oneself and the world, one should make some resolutions to better the world in which we live. As opposed to forced statements that may hamper one's happiness, resolutions can be used to promote growth and change.

Here are some resolutions that you should add to your list:

1. Spending time with family

Our family is probably the most taken-for-granted person in our lives. We are always making resolutions to spend more time with our friends, but we often overlook the fact that spending time with our family is essential.

Families who spend quality time with each other and have quality conversations are much happier than those who meet just because they are related. We should not expect them to go along with our schedules and not spend quality time together.

Make it a point to be present physically and emotionally when they need you, even if you live in a different city or if they stay with their family under one roof. They are the ones who stand by you when no one else will.

2. Take care of your physical health

Health does not refer to how we look. It refers to how we feel, rather than how we look. You do not need to look perfect to be healthy.

You need to take care of your physical health despite being "too chubby" or "too skinny". It is not just about keeping yourself on a weighing scale but also about keeping yourself healthy inside.

It is essential to maintain your physical health to keep diseases and ailments at bay. You can only consider yourself physically fit if you have a strong immune system, not if you have powerful biceps or washboard abs.

When it comes to keeping fit, consistency is key, as are realistic goals. Keeping a positive attitude and rewarding yourself when you reach your goals will keep you excited.

3. Take care of your mental health

Speaking about mental health is still taboo in the society we live in. People neglect that we need to take care of our minds just as much as our bodies. One cannot live peacefully with a healthy body but not with a healthy and happy mind. In today’s time, one can come across several factors that can trigger one’s mental health. Identify them. Learn to solve them, make sure your actions or words are not getting out as a trigger for someone else’s mental health.

4. Accept

People are turning intolerant, and the world is heading down a dark path that cannot be reversed. Being more accepting, tolerant and considerate is one of the most important resolutions people need to keep.

We find people engaging in verbal wars on social media and demeaning their opposites just because their opinions differ from their own. So, people should learn to accept others, regardless of their opinions, gender, caste, class, likes, dislikes, etc.

Our society is in a time when people need to remember that first and foremost, they are humans, and everyone else is too. People are being lynched and killed because they belong to a different section of society from another one.

By following the tips shared here, you will enter 2022 in better shape physically and mentally.

As a result, you will find yourself calmed and less stressed, your skin glow will be enhanced & your life will become more organized. Make following through on your resolutions easier by using a planner. Checking off fitness goals and frequent decluttering tasks makes it easier to stay motivated.
