It is no surprise to anyone that Brazil is one of the countries with the most paradisiacal beaches on the planet. According to the Travelers' Choice Awards 2023 of TripAdvisor, the largest travel guide platform in the world, released on the last day (28), Sancho Bay in Fernando de Noronha is in the highest place on the podium. But for them, this is nothing new because the postcard has already ranked first six other times, beating other paradisiacal destinations around the world.
Located in the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha in the state of Pernambuco, part of a group of volcanic islands 350 kilometers off the coast of northeastern Brazil, this area is known as paradise by Brazilians. Famous for its huge ecosystem, sparsely urbanized beaches, difficult access to the island, crystal clear waters, sea turtles, rays, dolphins, and sharks, it is the most well-known and desired itinerary for many travelers.
The Baía do Sancho is a bay of crystalline waters, smooth sand, turquoise water, and a great variety of marine life, located west of the Morro Dois Irmãos and east of the Baía dos Golfinhos. The entrance to the beach is difficult to access, initially, you have to walk on a footbridge for a few meters, then you have to go down a stairway with stone steps surrounded by cliffs. But the fascination of the place captivates the tourists, not giving much importance to the access because when you arrive everything is worth it.
But Fernando de Noronha was not the only Brazilian place to be exposed in the ranking of the 25 best beaches on the planet in 2023. The destination that was implicated was Ipanema beach, in Rio de Janeiro. The postcard was ranked 19th. Ipanema is a famous Rio de Janeiro beach that attracts millions of national and international tourists every year. The rocky Pedra do Arpoador peninsula is a popular spot for surfers and the famous view of one of the most famous sunsets in the world. Inland, the neighborhood's lush streets boast renowned restaurants, upscale boutiques, laid-back bars, and wonderful Brazilian music.
This award, which nominates the winners of the best beaches or numerous other categories of the Travelers' Choice Awards, is determined by several million reviews and worldwide tourists using the platform chosen from TripAdvisor over the past 12 months.
