Still riding the fame train following the massive success of Priscilla and Saltburn, Australian actor Jacob Elordi seems to have hit a snag in his career. Elordi is currently under police investigation for allegedly grabbing a radio producer’s throat outside of a hotel in Sydney, Australia.
The victim, Joshua Fox, works for a local Australian radio KIIS station as a radio producer for, The Kyle & Jackie O Show. After knowing about Elordi’s whereabouts in the city, Fox followed the former into a hotel located in south-east Sydney. He jokingly asked Elordi for a jar of his bathwater as a birthday present for Jackie O, a (revolting) nod to Saltburn’s most iconic scenes.
A video clip showcasing the events of the alternation, recorded by Fox himself, was released by KIIS station. Agitated by the request, Jacob “got into his face” and asked the radio producer to stop filming him, but the situation took a drastic turn.
“I refuse to because I feel uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence,” Joshua Fox remarked, recalling the incident in a segment of The Kyle & Jackie O Show. “And then Jacob kind of just flips and he kind of pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat,” he added. According to Joshua, he withdrew from the situation because he was feeling intimidated and he felt like the “joke didn’t land.”
A spokesperson for the New South Wales Police, who have been officially handed the matter for investigation, released a statement regarding the event, which stated: "Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.” The statement further stated that the victim (Fox) hadn’t sustained any injuries.
Jacob Elordi’s hotshot role as Nate Jacobs in the HBO series Euphoria has made him one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. These past couple of months have been most prolific for the Australian actor all thanks to the critical acclaim he garnered from outstanding performances in both Priscilla and Saltburn. His role in the latter scored him a BAFTA nomination for the EE Rising Star Award, where he joins the ranks among the likes of Phoebe Dynevor, Ayo Edibiri, Sophie Wilde, and Mia McKenna-Bruce. The actor is slated to star in upcoming projects like Oh, Canada and Guillermo del Toro’s Dr. Frankenstein.
