Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s divorce battle continues

On September 4, tabloids leaked that the celebrity couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were separating after four years together, stunning fans worldwide with their unexpected split. They announced their divorce via a joint statement on Instagram two days later, but remained silent on the matter as Jonas sought legal counsel for the divorce proceedings.

In recent weeks, amid the flurry of news about their divorce, both Joe and Sophie have publicly expressed their thoughts on their separation and discussed their future roles as parents. On September 9, during a performance at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles as part of his tour with the Jonas Brothers, Joe addressed the crowd, saying, "It's been a crazy week. On September 21, People reported that Turner was suing Jonas, requesting the return of the two children they share to her home country of England. Turner filed a lawsuit in a Manhattan court, seeking the "immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully detained." She also claimed that she and Jonas had agreed on England as their "forever home" during conversations they had the previous December. According to the documents, "The Father has possession of the children’s passports. He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother."

Additionally, Turner stated that the decision to separate had occurred "very suddenly" after an argument in early August, leading Jonas to file for divorce on September 5. Turner said she learned about their split in the media a few days later. In response, Jonas's lawyers swiftly addressed Turner's claims, with Jonas's representative sharing a statement with People, denying the actress's assertion that she was unaware of their divorce filing.
