Celebrations and congratulations are underway for actress Kaley Cuoco and her husband Tom Pelphrey, who welcomed their first child together on March 30th into the world. The arrival of their daughter, Matilda, was announced on Instagram along with a slew of photos showcasing the newborn cradled safely in the loving arms of her parents. Family, friends, and fans alike congratulated the star on her delivery via social media and celebrated in spirit alongside the new parents.
In a caption following the photos, the former “Big Bang Theory” actress wrote “Introducing, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, the new light of our lives! We are overjoyed and grateful for this little miracle.” The actress then proceeded to thank all who were involved with the birth of her daughter, including, friends, family, and healthcare workers.
In a sweet aside, Couco also gave flowers to her husband, writing: “We are blessed beyond belief [Tom] didn’t think I could fall even more in love with you, but I did.” Following the birth of Matilda, Cuoco shared Pelphrey cradling his daughter to a Slim Dusty song fittingly titled “Waltzing Matilda”. The flood of emotion and tenderness throughout the photos reached fellow celebs alike, garnering congratulations from Hillary Duff, Josh Gad, and even Olivia Munn
Similarly, Tom Pelphrey also celebrated the birth on his social media accounts, sharing photos of the trio together and providing sentimental captions to boot: “My heart is full of love and gratitude for this miracle….Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey… Eternally grateful for the strength and bravery of my soulmate and best friend [Kaley Cuoco]. You are incredible.”
The two actors sparked dating rumors last spring with Cuoco sharing romantic photos of the pair vacationing throughout the mountains. In an interview with USA Today last May, Cuoco explained that the two were paired together by their mutual manager. Later in the interview, the actress elaborated on their initial meeting: “I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting,” she recalled. “It hit me. It was love at first sight. We were immediately connected.” During the interview, she claimed that they were “…ready to build a life together.”
The pregnancy rumors that began to surround the star were quelled once Cuoco announced her pregnancy in October last year through an Instagram photo of Pelphrey holding up a cake slice with pink sugary filling. Throughout her pregnancy journey, Cuoco has documented her growing stomach and hosted an extravagant baby shower in January of this year, as well as attending the 2023 Golden Globes award alongside Pelphrey.
