Meghan Markle's Father Criticizes Silence As Naming Row Escalates; Royals Remain Mum

Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, has once again aimed at his daughter and Prince Harry, expressing his discontent over the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's silence regarding the recent naming controversy. The issue stems from the Dutch version of Omid Scobie's book Endgame, where an error identified King Charles and Kate, Princess of Wales, as the royals allegedly expressing concerns about the probable darkening of Prince Archie's complexion.

Despite the glaring error leading to the recall of thousands of copies of Endgame in the Netherlands, Meghan and Harry have chosen not to make a public statement on the matter.

In an interview with the Mail, Thomas Markle expressed his scepticism, branding the couple's silence as "unusual." He questioned why Meghan and Harry had not publicly distanced themselves from the controversy, adding fuel to the ongoing speculation surrounding the naming row.

The royals implicated in the book's Dutch version, King Charles and Kate, Princess of Wales, were incorrectly tied to the controversial remarks about Prince Archie's skin colour. The book claims that they "had concerns" regarding the matter. However, Omid Scobie, the author, has denied having a personal relationship with Meghan and Harry, emphasizing that the information came from sources close to the Sussexes.

The naming error has sparked debate over the Sussexes' decision to not publicly clarify the situation, leaving Thomas Markle and others questioning the motive behind their silence. Thomas Markle told the Mail, "The fact that Harry and Meghan have not publicly distanced themselves from this strikes me as unusual."

Sources close to Meghan Markle, who allegedly named the royals in a letter to King Charles, have insisted that the Duchess of Sussex never intended to publicly identify them. The same sources also assert that no one in Meghan's camp leaked the information to Scobie.

The Duchess had previously revealed in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey that there were "concerns and conversations" within the Royal Family about Prince Archie's skin tone during her pregnancy. Meghan justified her decision not to disclose the names of the concerned royals, stating, "I think that would be very damaging to them."

As the controversy continues to unfold, the public awaits a response from Meghan and Harry to shed light on their perspective and clarify the circumstances surrounding the erroneous inclusion of King Charles and Kate in the naming row.
