India’s Harnaaz Sandhu, 21 years, won the 70th edition of Miss Universe Crown held in Eliat, Israel on Dec 23, 2021. Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000 won the Miss Universe title and now Harnaaz, from Chandigarh, is the third Indian to win this title after 21 years. In a recent interview, Harnaaz spoke of her plans about Bollywood and who she wants to date.
At first, she was asked about her reaction when she won the title. To this, she said,” I consider myself very lucky because before I left I said: ‘ MainIndia’s Harnaaz Sandhu, 21 years, won the 70th edition of Miss Universe Crown held in Eliat, Israel on Dec 23, 2021. Submit Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000 won the Miss Universe title and now Harnaaz, from Chandigarh, is the third Indian to win this title after 21 years. In a recent interview, Harnaaz spoke of her plans about Bollywood and who she wants to date.
At first, she was asked about her reaction when she won the title. To this, she said,” I consider myself very lucky because before I left I said: ‘ Main Harnaaz hun, Desh ka naaz hun and I will bring the crown back to India’. I can't believe the word India was uttered with the line "Miss Universe is..." and I started to cry”.
Harnaaz wants to date a young struggling man
When she was asked if she would date a very powerful old rich man or a struggling man. Replying to this she said, “ I would like to date a young struggling person because I believe that struggle is important and only then we will be able to appreciate our achievements”.
Her Passion for Acting
Sandhu has already acted in Punjabi movies and said that she has had a passion for acting for a long time. She added, “ Honestly, it's too early to describe what my future will look like. But I can't wait to become an actor because so many people are inspired by actors. People want to be in a movie. Acting has always been my passion”.
Further, Harnaaz shares her thoughts and plans on Bollywood
When asked what kind of does she prefer to play, she said, “ I want to play such roles that will change the stereotypical thinking about women. I want to inspire people with my acting. It has just started, so it is too early to say anything. I think I will update everyone about this because the decision I take now should be very thoughtful”.
She has already acted in Punjabi movies and it’s her wish to work with Priyanka Chopra. She said,” I think I would like to work with Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen. Just Imagine how powerful a movie about women empowerment would be if they were staring. Imagine them all together making history again”.
Later, she talks about her likes other than her passion for acting and modeling.
“In addition to my passions - modeling and theater, I love gardening because I've always lived close to nature and I also love to cook. So I'm just another normal person, like a passionate girl I would say," she added”.
At the end of her interview, she says, “ Many people say that I won because I have a pretty face. But I know how much effort I put into it. Rather than humiliate them with an argument, I want to try to make them realize my worth. This is a stereotype that I want to break”.
