The beloved actress and singer Olivia Newton-John passed away this past Monday at the age of 73



The well-renowned actress that gave life to the beloved Sandy Olsson in the movie Grease and pops female vocalist in 1970 sadly passed away this past Monday. 

 

Through his official Facebook page, Newton-John’s husband, John Easterling announced that she passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this challenging time” adding that  “Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer,”

 

After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Newton-John shared her journey with the world even when it resurfaced for the third time in 2017. Easterling opened up about “Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.” 

 

The biggest hit of her career “Physical” was everywhere in 1981.  Newton-John conquered the pop charts with songs that remain popular along the newer generations. Considered the No. 1 female soloist of the ‘70s,  “You’re the One That I Want,” a duet with her co-star and long-time friend John Travolta from the successful 1978 soundtrack of the musical “Grease,” spent six months on the U.S. lists and where included between her nine top-10 pop singles of the decade with three chart-topping 45s.

 

The family of  Newton-John asks through social media that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.

 

The world was shocked by the news and many Hollywood figures expressed their condolences and shared incredible memories through social media. John Travolta paid tribute to Oliva Newton-John on his social media account “My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better,” Travolta wrote “Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”

 

An extraordinary woman with resilience and kindness that robbed the heart of America, her memory will remain by the immortality of her movies and songs. Her impact made the world a better place.
