Richard Gere Hospitalised in Mexico
An excellent vacation took an unexpected turn for Hollywood star Richard Gere and his family when the actor was hospitalized and diagnosed with pneumonia in Mexico this week.
Enjoying the wonderful sunshine, food, and coastline of this incredible Central America State was the plan that Gere’s family had in mind. Not just a typical vacation, though, as the actor and his family headed to Mexico to celebrate Richard’s wife, Alejandra Silva, 40th birthday.
On Thursday, Silva shared with her followers a cute Instagram post, depicting herself and their two children walking on the beach, towards a beautiful light-blue ocean. However, the caption which follows the post made millions of fans worry about them.
It reads: “Thank you all for the birthday wishes.. after almost three weeks of everyone being sick in our family today, I finally feel much better! Thank you for all the love. I give it all back to you!”.
Silva’s update highlighted Richard Gere’s conditions, which had previously been discussed mainly because of speculations and rumors from several journals and magazines.
Now that more information has been made public, we can confirm that the American actor is recovering.
The 73-year-old Hollywood veteran presented a severe cough even before leaving the US for his vacation. However, when he arrived in Nuevo Vallarta, the situation degenerated drastically, causing the rest of his family to get sick.
Successively, when the actor’s condition got worse, he decided to look for professional medical help, ending up being hospitalized in Mexico, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Crucially, no connection between Richard Gere’s and the rest of his family’s health situation has been made.
Fortunately, he did not appear to be in danger, as his lung infection was mainly treated during his overnight stay at the hospital. He is now back with his family, showing good signs of recovery.
In fact, on Saturday morning, Alexandra Silva published a new story on her IG profile, showing her, Richard, and one of their two children ready to enjoy another “beach day.” Also, in the photo published via social media, the actor appears to be wearing a mask, which immediately causes people to speculate about a possible covid-19 case. However, in this context, no news has been shared yet.
Fans worldwide are now happy to know that the health conditions of the Golden Globe nominee are constantly improving. At the same time, he still enjoys what is now a nice ongoing family vacation in Mexico.
