Spooktacular Ghost Train Delights Northern Customers In Halloween Festivities

Northern customers from Crewe embraced the Halloween spirit early as they embarked on a ghostly journey aboard a specially themed train traveling from Crewe to Manchester Piccadilly. The spooky adventure marked the beginning of the Halloween countdown. It served as a prelude to the exciting array of events taking place in Manchester city centre, including the much-anticipated ‘MCR Monsters’ and ‘Halloween in the City’ celebrations.

Families aboard the Halloween-themed train were treated to a delightful assortment of entertainment, including mesmerizing magic performances, intricate balloon sculptures crafted by skilled modelers, and spine-chilling storytelling sessions. To add to the excitement, attendees had the chance to showcase their creativity through imaginative fancy dress, with prizes awaiting the most spooktacular costumes. Additionally, ghoulish goody bags were distributed, adding a touch of sweetness to the eerie atmosphere.

Northern, the regional train operator, played a pivotal role in bringing the Halloween festivities to life. Craig Harrop, Regional Director at Northern, expressed his enthusiasm about the events, stating, “Northern is excited to support the launch of the ‘MCR Monsters’ and ‘Halloween in the City’ events.” He further announced the introduction of a new Family Fare ticket, tailored to families traveling on popular routes between Manchester and Barrow-in-Furness, as well as between Manchester and Blackpool. The ticket, valid for two adults and up to four children aged 5-15, aims to make family travel more convenient and affordable, aligning perfectly with the spirit of the Halloween celebrations.

In the coming weekend, Manchester is set to host a monstrous extravaganza with the Monsters Rock! Music Festival. The event promises a spine-tingling experience with spooky DJs, electrifying live performances, gruesome games, and captivating competitions. Attendees can also enjoy carnival rides, partake in fancy-dress contests, and witness Walk the Plank’s legendary monster procession, adding an element of thrill to the city’s Halloween festivities.

Northern’s new Family Fare ticket, introduced just last week, offers families a budget-friendly travel option on selected routes across the network. To avail of this offer, passengers must make their bookings online at least seven days before their travel date.

As Halloween enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the upcoming events, Northern’s initiative in providing affordable family travel options adds to the excitement, ensuring that everyone can join in the Halloween fun without any tricks, only treats.
