“Attacker on the run”

After a corrosive liquid was thrown by a man on a 31-year-old lady and her two daughters, aged three and eight, the man struck the 31-year-old woman with his car and then threw the 3 year old child to the ground,said sources of Sky News. 

The man hit the woman with his car and can be seen exiting the vehicle,in the CCTV footage,opening the rear door before hurling the child to the streets. 

Members of the public have mentioned that this might be a “domestic abuse” as according to senior officer Gabriel Cameron mentions that this appears to be a “targeted attack”  He was seen fleeing the scene on Lessar Avenue near Clapham Common .The event took place on Wednesday night at approximately 7:25 p.m. 


Three additional members of the public were reportedly brought to the hospital following the event while attempting to assist the woman and her children, according to the Independent.


On Wednesday, the South Belvedere Hotel in Clapham revealed that their guests were the victims of the acid attack. The lady was brought to the hotel where the 26-year-old man was a guest, and he claimed to soothe her. He said that the lady was Muslim, and she was praying to Allah alongside her children. She was in the restroom when a Romanian woman was trying to wipe her face while she sobbed.


The Belvedere Hotel personnel helped the impacted customers and reassured other hotel guests about their safety and well-being while supporting the efforts of the emergency services. Sir Mark Rowley, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has described the chemical attack in Clapham as "ghastly."

Speaking to BBC Radio London, Sir Mark described the attack as a "tough, difficult moment" for London, but informed that such events which involved the use of chemicals are "extremely rare." He also acknowledged his limited information and added that some of the victims' burn injuries were "quite substantial," .
