Can The United States "Manage" The Middle East?

The Palestinian-Israeli issue has become the center of concern for the world, especially the concern of Christians who played a major role, so the role of the United States in the Middle East has emerged, and whether it can manage it or not?.

Therefore, America's policy is no longer confined to Israel-Palestine only, but rather looks at the Middle East as a whole; but the Middle East suffers from many troubles, including the lack of clean water, bad food, lack of education, inappropriate sanitation and health, poverty, and the main problem here is the "War", so America unable to change the status of the Middle East, due to many reasons.

Starting with Iraq, the state that was marked as a failed state, after a long time of quest and the emergence of the so-called Islamic state. Moving to Syria, and the unpredictable civil war that occurred in it in 2011, which left behind a lot of dead, led to an increase in the displacement and migration towards different European and international countries, and the Syrian unity that may not be easily back.

Yemen also faced civil war and a foreign interference, Libya like Iraq was considered a failed state and there is a possibility for a near civil war, also Egypt has troubles and the United States of America supports a military dictatorship in Egypt.

One of the problems in the middle east is the issue of the two-state solution (Palestine-Israel) it has ended the peace issue.

There is a major ideological Sunni-Shiite conflict within the region, and the rise of Christian fear. It cannot be said that America is the cause of these events, but it plays a major role in it.

The USA has 5 major interests, two of which are moral interests, which are: America has a moral obligation toward Israel, to build a state for the Jewish of the world, and to focus on the issue of human rights.

The other three interests of the USA in the Middle East are: to prevent the spread of weapons of mass destruction, to prevent terrorism and especially the terrorism that threatens the United States, and to arrive at the resources and energy.

managing the middle east, first, the USA did not interfere in the middle east and left it to France and Britain, after that it started to give the middle east more attention, especially in the case of education.

At first, the USA played a positive role in the region, it plays the role of a balancer during the era of the cold war, it was not intervening in the affairs of the other state, and it only interferes in its affairs, then it interferes in Lebanon, and interferes during the war between Iraq and Iran, so it starts to intervene in the middle east without forces and army.

The USA uses the Dual Containment policy especially between Iran and Iraq, to contain both countries. Thus, the dual containment policy increased the presence of sleeping cells and terrorist organizations, so it was proven that this policy is wrong.

The US acted as a mediator between Palestine and Israel a long time ago, but then Clinton support Israel, and then the USA use another policy "The Regional Transformation", it aims to show the USA's power, and to make a change in the system of the other country like in Iraq, and Iran…etc., and to shoot down the enemies.

The US policy led to several changes, like many failed states starting to appear, civil war, increasing the influence of Iran in the region, and then the Bush administration made the policy of the "Road Map", and this gave Israel the ability to expand, and make Hamas more popular.

During Obama's administration, the policy was characterized by four main debentures, which are: Drones, Disengagement, Diplomacy, and democracy.

The Obama administration uses the term diplomacy, to make a good relationship with Arab to guarantee peace between both Arabs and Israel and to guarantee the solution of the two states (Israel-Palestine). And drones, so the United States of America start to depend on the air forces and drones, which help them to become active in different regions.

The disengagement pushes the United States to withdraw from many areas, The Palestinian-Israeli issue has become the center of concern for the world, especially the concern of Christians who played a major role, so the role of the United States in the Middle East has emerged, and whether it can manage it or not ? .

The disengagement pushes the United States to withdraw from many areas, and places, including Afghanistan, Iraq…etc. in addition, to democracy, the United States of America helped the citizens of some states to change their regimes into a democratic one, and also the United States of America saw the uprising and the revolution, including Arab spring, and it marked a transition point towards openness and democracy.

In addition, the United States of America did not predict the emergence of terrorist groups such as ISIS and it also made a coalition with Saudi Arabia to bomb the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
