Using renewable energy or alternative energy sources

Energy, sometimes defined as fuel or oil, is an important driver of development in many parts of the world. Oil, fuel, and gas are all valuable commodities used all over the world. Non-renewable energy is important; many businesses, such as transportation and manufacturing, rely on them, and governments spend a significant amount of foreign cash on it.

Though we witness progress and expansion of various industries, there are also hazardous effects and environmental pollution. Regarding this, there is a pressing need for the world to discover and utilize alternative energy sources. Many official diplomatic groups are raising awareness of the need to identify and use renewable energy sources.

What makes renewable or alternative energy so vital now? There could be numerous explanations. Fossil fuels are running out and are unsustainable in the future. Alternative renewable energy sources help to reduce the number of toxins produced by traditional energy sources. This helps to fight against the harmful bio-products of traditional energy consumption even while preserving many natural resources. one of its most important reasons is to minimize waste, greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the number of toxins in the air.

Let's look at these renewable energy sources and how they can help the environment

Source of Renewable Energy

The major source of renewable energy is

·       Biomass, wood and wood waste, solid waste and landfill gas, ethanol, biodiesel.

·       Hydropower

·       Geothermal energy

·       Wind energy

·       Solar energy

·       Tidal energy

·       Radiant energy

·       Compressed natural gas

Let's take a closer look at some of the most commonly used renewable and alternative energy sources.

Solar energy

Solar energy is a very popular method of alternative energy. It depends on drawing energy from the sun’s rays by planting solar cells on the ground or in heightened areas that are exposed to the sun. Photovoltaics capture and convert it into electricity, The solar panels convert light into energy that can be used.

Solar energy is utilized to heat, cook, generate electricity, and provide safe drinking water. Solar energy has the primary benefit of being pollution-free.

Solar panels are becoming increasingly popular as a means of generating electricity around the world. Many industries are experimenting with this technique of generating electricity. Even normal people are attempting to generate power with solar panels for commercial and personal use.

Wind power

Wind power is the ability to capture the wind in such a way that it drives the blades of wind turbines, which are then converted into electrical current by a generator. It is one of the world's fastest-growing alternative energies. It is also cheap. Wind energy mitigates the fuel cost uncertainty in traditional energy sources since there are no fuel costs and the price at which the power generated by wind farms is sold is fixed. Wind power also has the advantage of being a clean source of energy. Wind turbines do not discharge any harmful pollutants that pollute the air.

Geothermal energy

When holes are drilled in geothermal areas, steam rises and can be used to generate power and produce electricity. The advantage of this energy is that there is no harmful by-product produced. Water is heated using low-temperature geothermal sources, which are then used to heat homes. Many different buildings are heated with a central supply source. Geothermal energy is used to heat several swimming pools, spas, and aquaculture ponds. Electricity is also formed using geothermal energy. Geothermal power plants absorb rising steam from the ground, and the heated vapour is funnelled to the turbine which operates the electric generator.

Hydroelectricity

The power generated by the potential energy of water that has been dammed. The dammed water spins the turbine, which provides electricity. The benefit of utilizing this energy source is that it does not pollute the environment and the water can be reused.

Looking at the fact that fossil fuel energy is responsible for 65 percent of global warming pollution. As a result, we must use alternative energy sources to minimize environmental pollution. Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases trapping heat in the atmosphere and leaving the earth warm. Carbon dioxide is the primary cause of this. Because more fossil fuels are used and more carbon dioxide is released, the earth is becoming warmer. Using an alternate energy source can help to reduce fossil fuel consumption.

Unlike fossil fuels, which are only produced in a few nations, renewable energy supplies are widespread. Renewable energy deployment provides energy security, climate change mitigation, and economic benefit while also aiming for net-zero carbon emissions.

The alternative energy source promotes public health, reduces pollution-related premature deaths, and lowers health-care expenses. There are various advantages to adopting renewable energy, and our planet must take efforts toward deploying alternative energy sources for the benefit and well-being of all.
