Everyone and everything in the universe is governed by seven Universal Laws or Principles. The laws of mentalism, correspondence, vibration, polarity, rhythm, cause and effect, and gender are just a few of them. Because of these Laws, the Universe lives in absolute harmony and order. These seven Hermetic Laws of the Universe are the common thread that connects all ancient mystical, occult, and hidden teachings that span more than 5,000 years, from Ancient Egypt to Ancient Greece. You will experience transformation in every aspect of your life that goes far beyond anything you could have ever dreamed of once you comprehend, put into practice, and align yourself with these seven Universal Laws. The governing Laws don't want to harm you or reward you. They lack personality and function subconsciously and automatically without your conscious involvement.
The Immutable and Mutable Laws: The first three of the seven Universal Laws are the Higher Immutable Laws, which means they are Absolute and Eternal. They are unchangeable and it can’t be undone. They have existed and will continue to exist. The final four of the seven Universal Laws are Lower Mutable Laws, which are transitory and can be overcome or at least used to build a perfect inner and outward world. The four Mutable Laws will nonetheless control your existence even if you try to ignore them or resist them, thus this is not to argue that you should do either. Your goal is to comprehend each of the seven Universal Laws, and by your knowledge and comprehension of the Higher Laws, you will be able to transcend or master the Lower Laws.
Law #1: The Law of Mentalism (Immutable)
States that "The All is Mind, The Universe is Mental". This implies that the fundamental element of the universe is mind or consciousness, and that this consciousness is The Absolute's Universal Mind. Being an Immutable Law, nothing can or will ever be able to change it, and it applies to all three types of planes: the physical, mental, and spiritual.
However, saying "All is Mind" does not imply that everything is a part of the Mental Plane. The Mental Plane, on the other hand, is the plane of Mind connected to what we traditionally refer to as mental functions like thinking, imagination, and general mental health. All energy and matter, visible and invisible, at all levels of existence, is produced by and is under the control of The Absolute. Your mind is identical to the entire Universal Mind. And your reality is really a reflection of your consciousness and the expression of your thinking. Since everything is mind, this implies that you are mind rather than having a mind. The core of mind power is this.
Law #2: The Law of Correspondence (Immutable)
Commonly referred to as the Law of Analogy. This Law states that, correspondingly, "As Above So Below, As Below So Above," and "As Within So Without, As Without So Within". The Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Planes are in "harmony, agreement, and communication," according to this. Simply put, since everything including you is Mind, there is no separation. The third of the Universal Laws states that the rate of vibration is the only variable. From the smallest particle to the greatest star, from the visible Physical Plane to the invisible Spiritual Plane, the same pattern is expressed on all realms of existence.
How the Law of Correspondence is applied? The Law of Correspondence's practical application is that it enables you to discover analogies between concepts you already comprehend and concepts that are outside your realm of comprehension. For instance, you can perfectly comprehend how your mind produces your reality by knowing the creative side of the Universal Mind. By examining your inner mental world, you can gain insight into the condition of your outward physical world. Similar to how your outer physical world might disclose your inner mental world, vice versa.
James Allen, a New Thought author, stated it best when he remarked, "Circumstances do not make a man, they expose him." This implies that your circumstances in the outside world reflect your inner world, and that in order to change your circumstances, you must alter your way of thinking, which includes your feelings, assumptions, and convictions, among other things. The inscription "Know thyself and thou shalt know all the mysteries of the gods and the Universe" on the ancient Greek Temple of Apollo at Delphi also made reference to this great Law of Correspondence.
Law #3: The Law of Vibration (Immutable)
Which states that "Nothing Rests, Everything Moves, Everything Vibrates," and "The Whole Universe Is But a Vibration,". Modern science, which claims that everything, including you, is made up of pure energy vibrating at various frequencies, confirms this. All manifestations of consciousness or mind, whether they be made of substance, ideas, emotions, things, or circumstances, are identical except for their corresponding rate of vibration.
The less-dense or subtler (less tangible) that thing is, the higher the rate of vibration. The denser or less subtle (more tangible) anything is, the lower its vibrational rate. Everything you perceive with your five physical senses on the physical plane is transmitted to your brain via vibrations. Everything in the three-dimensional (3D) world is a vibration; nevertheless, because of the way your brain interprets those vibrations, you see things as solid. Given that you have the power to pick your ideas, you can purposefully raise your mental frequency by thinking more high-frequency, pleasant thoughts.
The Vibrational Law is what supports the Law of Attraction: The Law of Vibration serves as the foundation for the Law of Attraction's postulate that "like energy attracts similar energy." By actively choosing what you concentrate on, what you picture, what you believe, and how you emotionally respond to events in the outside world, you may learn to manage your mental vibrations at will. In a similar vein, you may rewire your subconscious mind and alter your fundamental ideas. The basis for real mental power is found in this.
The Law of Vibration and the Power of Directive: Furthermore, we are aware of the Law of Vibration, which states that greater vibrational rates have a controlling influence over lower vibrational rates. In other words, the more cognizant you are of your Higher Self, the more control you have over the denser levels of consciousness beneath it, such as your Mental Plane and the 3D Physical Plane. This therefore explains why, because the former has control over the latter, the 'higher' you go in the degree of consciousness on the inside, the greater your ability to easily manifest your goals on the outside.
Law #4: The Law of Polarity (Mutable)
States that "Everything is Dual, Everything Has Poles," "Everything Has Its Pair of Opposites," and "Opposites are Identical in Nature, but Different in Degree". There are two sides to everything.
Things that seem contradictory are really merely two extremes of the same thing. For instance, although heat and cold seem to be opposites, they are really only different expressions of the concept of temperature. All opposites share the same property. Love and hate, peace and conflict, positive and negative, good and evil, yes and no, light and darkness, energy and matter are all just different manifestations of the same thing in different degrees. By rising above your emotions and actively focusing on higher feelings, you can transform your emotions along the lines of any pair of opposites, such as from hate to love, from fear to courage, and so on.
Overcoming the Law of Polarity: Though it could seem very real in your life, this principle of duality only applies to the physical and mental planes, not the spiritual plane where all is one. God is above the opposites, you will eventually learn to master the Law of Polarity if you always put the All-Powerful, All-Knowing Great Spirit or Absolute of which your True Self is a Divine Spark behind everything you say and do, if you make an effort to see the bright side even when things don't seem to be going your way, and if you steer clear of the extremes.
Furthermore, by refraining from categorising anything as "good" or "evil," whether it be a wish, person, idea, object, or situation, you keep yourself from identifying with either side. You can start to transcend this Law of Polarity when you are not tied to either side of the polarities because then you can see the opposites for what they are just different ways of expressing the same thing.
Law #5: The Law of Rhythm (Mutable)
"Everything Flows, Out and In," "All Things Rise and Fall," "The Pendulum Swing Manifests in Everything," "The Measure of the Swing to the Right is the Measure of the Swing to the Left". The Law of Rhythm's pendulum causes all things, visible or unseen, to swing between the opposites.
The ocean waves, the rise and fall of civilizations, business cycles, the swing of your thoughts from positive to negative, and your own achievements and failures are all examples of this Universal Law in action. According to this Law, whenever something achieves a point of climax, a backward swing starts almost imperceptibly and continues until any forward motion has been nearly entirely reversed. At that point, the forward motion starts again, and the cycle is repeated.
Using the Law: You must learn to recognise the subtle beginning of the backward movement in whatever effort you make to advance your health, wealth, relationships, or any other objective you may have in mind in order to work with rather than against the pendulum's swing. When you sense the Law beginning to pull you back, resist the need to panic or give up. Instead, bear in mind that you are one with the All-Powerful Absolute, for whom nothing is impossible, keep your thoughts fixed on your desired result, and stay upbeat regardless of how far back this transitory Law drags you. If your efforts are unsuccessful, take solace in the fact that the upward motion must restart because of the same Law.
Mastering the Law: By avoiding the extremes so that the pendulum has nothing to correct, you can transcend the Law of Rhythm in both your inner and outer worlds. This does not imply settling for mediocrity or a lack of concern for anything or anyone, though. Instead, it means to seek equilibrium because it is what this Law actually desires. When you experience mental extremes, such as those that are on either side of the spectrum, such as fear, panic, excessive excitement, an obsessional feeling, or an attachment, try to relax your mind so that the thoughts, feelings, words, and actions that follow won't be extreme. In this approach, the swing to one side will be so gradual that it won't be visible when it swings the other way. Extremes vary from person to person, therefore what is considered extreme by one person may not be by another. You can only judge whether something you're thinking, feeling, or doing is severe if it's hurting or damaging either your present or future.
Law #6: The Law of Cause and Effect (Mutable)
"Every Cause Has Its Effect" and "Every Effect Has Its Cause". Every result you observe in your outer, physical world has a very particular cause, according to this Law, which has its genesis in your inner, mental world. The core of thinking power is this. Your thoughts, your beliefs about who you are, how the world works, and your general mental health put in motion particular causes that eventually manifest as equivalent effects in your external environment.
How to Understand Cause and Effect? Everything in your reality is really a mental creation a projection of consciousness so in order to control your destiny, you must control your thought process. Nothing compares to chance or luck, at least not in the sense that we use the terms. They are merely concepts that people have been using without understanding this Law. Your apparent, outside world is the result of your invisible inner reality. Do not let the frequency of your inner world be determined by the outside world. Keep thinking, feeling, assuming, and picturing the life you want to live, and eventually the outside world will catch up. Your outward world (effect) must eventually match your inner world (cause) by Law in accordance with the conscious creation process.
Your Ideas are Created Immediately: The Spiritual, Mental, and Physical Planes of Existence are all subject to this Law. Cause and effect are instantaneous on the Spiritual Plane. On the other Planes, the delay between the cause and the final result is caused by our perception of time and space. What you wish to produce in the Physical Plane is instantly created on the Spiritual Plane when you concentrate on your selected desires with the intention of using creative visualisation or other manifesting techniques. Your desired result will likewise materialise in the Physical Plane with persistence, practice, and continued concentration of your imagination because the Spiritual Plane leads the Physical Plane, whatever is created there is eventually projected there.
Law #7: The Law of Gender (Mutable)
It says, "Everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles," and "Gender is in Everything." The opposing sexes or genders that exist in all of creation, including plants, electrons, and magnetic poles to mention a few, are proof of this changing Universal Law.
There are male and feminine components to everything; the masculine is commanding and the feminine is creative, and the two must coexist together. Your conscious mind, volition, and logic are the directive masculine elements in the Mental Plane. Your subconscious mind, your wants, and your emotions are the corresponding feminine creative elements. The two genders are equally strong and significant, and they must cooperate. Your will and wants, reasoning and emotions, as well as your conscious and subconscious minds, must all cooperate to produce the same result.
Male and Female Characteristics: Each individual possesses both masculine and feminine traits. Love, patience, intuition, and kindness are examples of feminine traits that may be seen in action, while energy, independence, reason, and intellect are examples of male traits. You should be aware that every woman possesses all the latent attributes of a man, and every man possesses those of a woman. You will understand what it means to be whole once you realise this and give your qualities the chance to stand out and complement one another.
Law of Attraction as an Ingredient in the Formula
This Law is not listed as one of the seven Universal Laws, as you will notice. This is not meant to minimise its significance. One of the fundamental principles that underlies all of the Universal Laws is the Law of Attraction. It must be said to keep everything in place.
This article primarily pulls from two sources of knowledge about the seven Universal Laws. The Kybalion, a study of the Hermetic philosophy of ancient Egypt and Greece based on the teachings of Hermes Trismegistus, was published in 1908 and is considered a seminal work on the Universal Laws. It was written by the Three Initiates, who is now recognised as the New Thought author William Walker Atkinson. The Science of Being by Baron Eugene Fersen, one of the most thorough publications on the subject, came in second place.
"The Principles of Truth are Seven; he who knows these, understandingly, possesses the Magic Key before whose touch all the Doors of the Temple fly open"—The Kybalion
