A new and controversial calendar in formula 1

With great popularity in recent times, the world's top motorsports category is preparing for the biggest season in its history. It plans to fulfill a schedule consisting of twenty-three races and more than nine months of competition. The motor racing season starts in Bahrain on November 5th and will end its last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi on November 26th.

The category brings more news about the calendar, the stages will pass through the four continents American, Asian, European, and also in Oceania. But the big attraction of the year is the return of the formula in the city located in southern Nevada, the famous Las Vegas announced in March last year. The return of Formula One to "Sin City" takes place in the penultimate month of the year, the round, which will serve as the twenty-second round of the 2023 season, is scheduled for November 18. Eight days later, the category closes the championship in Abu Dhabi.

Las Vegas hasn't hosted formula one since the 1980s when they built a terrible circuit in the parking lot of a casino and received a lot of criticism, and because of that, the fans are a little apprehensive. But unlike that time, the circuit will be held on the streets of the capital promising lots of glamour, luxury, and fun. The race will also be held on a Saturday night, another novelty for this year.

Initially, a three-year contract was made (2023 to 2025), but the Clark County Commission approved the renewal of the Grand Prix's link with the city until 2032. The FIA has approved the Las Vegas Grand Prix as an annual event in the city for the next ten years, with a major economic impact estimated at over $1 billion. After this, it is obvious that the green light was given for another round of negotiations in search of a contractual extension, but nothing confirmed yet.

On the other hand, France will no longer host Formula 1 this year, after hosting races at the Paul Ricard circuit for several years. But this was already expected, the confirmation was made last year by the head of the category the Italian Stefano Domenicali, but always open opportunities for a return in the future.

Already one of the most anticipated events for any fan of the category but especially the passionate Brazilians, Interlagos remains on the calendar of formula one for another three seasons confirmed. It will be held this time a few days earlier than in previous years, occurring on November 5th.

The calendar could be even more vigorous than it already is. This is because the initial and original calendar had as planned the Chinese Grand Prix, which would be its return to motorsports. However, due to logistical and political problems with the covid, the laws are still very strict in this matter. The difficulty of holding the event increased a lot because of this policy, causing the cancellation of the event once again. The formula chose not to put another event in place of the Asian stage, but still, the FIA left an air of hope for sports fans and there may be a possible negotiation with China or the implementation of another grand prix.
