March Madness is Set to Begin Next Week

With the regular season all wrapped up for Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I basketball, all focus shifts toward the conference tournaments with hopes of making the big dance. Selection Sunday will take place this Sunday, March 12th to officially seed the entire bracket for both men’s and women’s basketball this year.  


 


This year the teams will all join in the tournament with the same format that it has had for many years to come. The first round will consist of 64 teams, allowing each team to play two games per weekend to try and win the title for the 2022/23 basketball season.


 


Women’s NCAA Division I 


 


The Women's NCAA schedule for the tournament will host its first round on Friday and Saturday, March 17th and 18th, the second round will be Sunday and Monday, March 19th to 20th, the third round, or the “Sweet 16” is Friday and Saturday, March 24th and 25th, the fourth round or the “Elite 8” will be Sunday and Monday, March 26th and 27th, and then the Final Four with be on Friday, March 31, broadcasted on ESPN. This will be followed by the national championship game on Sunday, April 2 which will be broadcast on ABC.


 


The Women's tournament this year will take place all over the country with the final four sets to take place in Dallas, Texas. The Men’s tournament will also be spread out throughout the country for the preliminary rounds with the Final Four set to be in Houston, Texas. 


 


Men’s NCAA Division I 


 


The Men’s schedule for the tournament will host the first round on March 16th and 17th, the second round will be on March 18th and 19th, the Sweet 16 will take place on March 23rd and 24th, the Elite Eight on March 25th and 26th, with the Final Four set to be April 1st. The Men’s Championship game will be on April 3rd. 


 


Now, with Selection Sunday right around the corner, all of the Men’s and Women's teams understand the importance of the conference tournament games that they are playing right now. With all the changes in the world, it can be determined that one thing remains constant: the committee is watching.
