UIDAI, the sector body of The Government of India, has stressed significantly about maintaining the Aadhar integrity amongst the public, by enabling Aadhar notification systems, to Aadhar linked numbers only.

Although the reminders have been sent regularly, no Aadhar account numbers have been dismissed or deactivated, until now. The notification-enabling system would create a proactive pool for all users, gaining trust and confidence in the body for all its uses throughout the nation.

The Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamta Banerjee on Sunday, had struck allegations against the BJP-led government, claiming the government has been a part of deliberately deactivating Aadhar numbers of individuals belonging to West Bengal, for an upfront presence in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.. "Be careful, they (BJP-led Centre) are deactivating Aadhaar cards. Several Aadhaar cards have been made inactive in many districts of Bengal”. “They are doing this so that people do not get benefits of schemes like 'Lakshmi Bhandar' through bank transfers and free rations before the polls," she said.

She assured the public that her government would ensure that beneficiaries of state-run welfare programs would still receive their payments, even if they did not possess a valid Aadhaar card.

During her address at a public distribution event held in Birbhum district, the speaker made a claim that the Aadhaar cards of approximately 50 individuals residing in Jamalpur, located in the Purba Bardhaman district, had been disconnected. Furthermore, she stated that numerous other individuals residing in Birbhum, North and South 24 Parganas, as well as in North Bengal, had also experienced the disconnection of their Aadhaar cards.

The Aadhaar system, being the predominant digital identification method, is utilized for accessing a wide array of subsidies, advantages, and services, according to the UIDAI's official website. The organization further stated that to uphold the precision of the Aadhaar database, they have commenced a process to revise documents and Aadhaar details.

“In the course of activities undertaken to keep the Aadhaar database updated, intimations are issued from time to time to Aadhaar number holders. In this connection, it is clarified that no Aadhaar number has been canceled,” UIDAI said.

"In case any Aadhaar number holder has any grievance in this regard, they may submit their feedback to UIDAI at this link https://uidai.gov.in/en/contact-support/feedback.html. Any such grievance will be duly addressed," it said.
