Amit Shah's Visit to Assam

Amit Shah is to visit Assam and Meghalaya from 18th to 20th January. He will take part in the 61st Raising Day celebrations of SSB in Tezpur, Assam.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Assam and Meghalaya on January 18th to January 20th. He attended the plenary session of the North Eastern council, along with the passing out parade of Assam Police Commandos and inaugurate a cyber security operational centre.

Shah will also participate in the 61st Raising Day Celebrations of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Tezpur, Assam.

After arriving in Shillong on Thursday, the Home Minister will inaugurate a cyber security operational centre of the Assam Rifles on the premises of the premises of the premises of the paramilitary force’s headquarters in the capital of Meghalaya.

On Friday, Shah will attend the 71st plenary session at the NEC at the state convention centre in Shillong and subsequently review the functioning of the North Eastern Space Applications Centre(NESAC) at the same venue.

On Saturday, the home minister will attend the 61st Raising Day celebrations of the SSB at the SSB complex in Tezpur.

In the afternoon, he will attend the 13th triennial conference of the All Bathou Mahasabha at Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district.

In the evening, Shah will attend the passing out parade of 2,551 Assam Police commandos at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati. Later, he will launch a book, 'Assam's Braveheart Lachit Barphukan', at Srimanta Sankardeva International Auditorium in the city.

The home minister will also inaugurate the Brahmaputra Riverfront in Guwahati before returning to Delhi. Shah also visits Assam’s historic temple Mahabhairav temple and also participated in cleanliness drive.

He was accompanied by Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, offered prayers inside the temple, and later came out in the courtyard for the cleanliness drive.   

The home minister Amit Shah was seen pouring water from a bucket at several places in the courtyard and wiping it with a broom. Himanta Biswa Sarma also participated in the cleanliness drive along with Amit Shah.

Amit Shah, however, did not speak to waiting mediapersons but waved at the crowd before leaving the temple premises for Tezpur University, where the state's cultural affairs department has organised, a programme dedicated to Assam's legendary singer Bhupen Hazarika.

Amit Shah will stay the night in Tezpur, and on Saturday attend the 60th Raising Day of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) here and the 13th Triennial Conference of the All Bathou Mahasabha at Dhekiajuli.
